Using a TikTok video, a well-known influencer dispelled the persistent speculation that Rain has bad breath by saying THIS.
Since approximately 2004, there has been a disgraceful rumor surrounding K-pop icon Rain, claiming that he has a foul odor and suffers from severe bad breath.
For the past twenty years, K-pop stans have continuously joked about this, but the rumor has also been frequently utilized to discredit the icon.
The exact source of this widespread rumor is difficult to pinpoint, however, longtime fans claim that it originated in Korean forums 20 years ago. The situation became more chaotic when an alleged post from Sechs Kies member Kang Sung Hoon began circulating. In the post, he reportedly wrote:
“Rain, that b*stard had stinking breath! He was famous among singers. Everyone who used the mic after that b*stard fainted. How terrible it must have been.”
On August 6, Amy Flamy, a well-known internet celebrity and beauty influencer on TikTok, utilized the video-sharing platform to discuss this matter.
The reason for this was that she had previously shared a dance challenge video of Megan Thee Stallion’s “Mamushi (feat. Yuki Chiba)”with Rain, which received over 6 million views.
Despite the excitement and shock from many fans in the comments, some netizens took the opportunity to randomly inquire about Amy’s thoughts on Rain’s true scent, making it noticeable in the conversation.
As a result, she created another video revealing the TRUTH about the rumor and stated:
“Oh my gosh! Are you guys being for real right now? Guys, he’s a ‘god of K-pop.’ Do you really think that his hygiene is not going to be good? Like, guys, think. I don’t understand where this rumor started from, but I am here to end it, officially.”
Next, she recounted their encounter, stating:
“First of all, when Rain walks in, he literally smells like a royal, like a prince […] Throughout my life, I have my fair share of celebrities and I think Rain is one of the celebrities that I think smells ‘DIVINE.’
And I kid you not, when he first walked in, I was like really stunned. He was the only celebrity that I was taken aback because of his aura. He has this shining aura behind him.”
Amy alluded to her upcoming collaboration with the K-pop legend on an ASMR talk show and praised his consistently “minty fresh”breath.
The content creator jokingly admitted that she was more self-conscious about smelling bad next to him, even though she considered herself a “Cleanliness Queen.”
Once again, she clarified at the end of the video:
“Rain does not stink at all. He doesn’t and he probably smells better than half of the population of the Earth.”
