After numerous rejections from the “Nation’s First Love,”Rain, a K-pop icon, reflected on the journey of how Kim Tae Hee eventually came to accept him.
During an episode of Shin Dong Yub’s YouTube variety show “Zzan Bro”on June 3, K-pop star Rain made a special appearance. He shared a story that caught the viewers’ attention as he talked about the time he considered leaving the entertainment industry, until he met his now-wife, Kim Tae Hee.
In 2017, the “power couple”tied the knot. At the time, Rain gained the moniker of “Nation’s Thief”for “stealing”Kim Tae Hee, who was highly regarded as a “national treasure”for her exceptional beauty and acting abilities.
Despite expectations of a romantic K-drama-like love story, Rain shared that their relationship did not start off smoothly. His wife initially rejected him, causing him to also give up on pursuing her.
In his story, the “Rainism”singer revealed that their initial encounter took place during the filming of a CF advertisement, and it was far from being love at first sight. Instead, they both believed that they did not fit each other’s ideal preferences.
Although Kim Tae Hee may not initially be your type, once you get to know her and see her, it will be difficult not to develop feelings for her. This holds true for the male icon as well.
Unfortunately, when Rain first expressed his interest, he faced his first rejection when Kim stated that she had a preference for good-looking men.
