Raising Cane’s Founder and CEO, Todd Graves, recently connected with TikToker Simji after she attempted to trade a hand-crafted rug featuring the company’s mascot at a local restaurant.
Simji has gained significant popularity in 2024 with her custom rug designs, showcasing logos from some of the largest brands globally.
She typically ventures into stores to try to exchange these unique rugs for a product from the respective company, such as a stylish outfit from Lululemon, for instance.
However, because most businesses lack official policies for trading goods, Simji’s trading efforts are not always successful.
Her attempt to exchange a rug of Raising Cane’s beloved canine mascot, Cane III, on August 30 was met with a refusal from the restaurant’s management.

After her initial video went viral, commenters began tagging Raising Cane’s TikTok account, catching the attention of CEO Todd Graves.
In a video shared on September 23, 2024, Simji announced that Todd Graves reached out to arrange a trade involving her mascot rug.
“You all tagged them, blew this up, and now the founder wants to meet me,” she exclaimed before meeting Graves in person. The two ventured into the store to find a spot for her rug, during which Graves gifted Simji a denim jacket.
She initially thought the jacket was all she would receive but was pleasantly surprised to find a card with a year’s worth of free Raising Cane’s meals tucked in the pocket.
@simjiofficial This DID NOT just happen😭
At the time of writing, Simji’s follow-up video has garnered nearly five million views, with fans eagerly sharing their thoughts in the comments.
“Other companies need to TAKE NOTES,” one user shared.
Another commented: “This is the most iconic thing ever.”
“Excellent marketing, Mister Todd Graves. Now I don’t want to cook dinner and will be asking my husband to pick up Raising Cane’s,” remarked a third user.
This incident isn’t the first time a brand has gained attention for their positive interactions with customers. In 2023, Stanley made headlines for offering to replace a customer’s car after a TikToker mentioned her Stanley tumbler was unharmed in a fire that consumed her vehicle.
