Randy Orton reveals he got through career-ending injury by playing a lot of Elden Ring

WWE wrestler Randy Orton disclosed that he spent countless hours playing Elden Ring during his recovery from surgery.

Orton discussed his passion for the game during an episode of the What Do You Wann Talk About podcast with fellow entertainer Cody Rhodes.

Despite his hectic schedule as a wrestler, Orton revealed that he is still an avid gamer and has spent approximately 600 hours playing Elden Ring. The conversation between the two began with a discussion about John Cena’s appearance as Peacemaker in Mortal Kombat 1, which led them to the topic of gaming.

After undergoing spinal fusion surgery, the WWE star was away from the sport for 18 months to allow for his recovery. He mentioned that he had an abundance of free time to play the game upon its release in early 2022, as he was still recuperating from his career-ending injury.

He mentioned that he has been persistently playing the FromSoftware game, particularly with the addition of the new Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

Orton explained that he gets completely engrossed in playing on his iPad. Once the kids are asleep, he will hand his wife the device and ask her to make purchases on Amazon. For him, it feels like Christmas every day at his house.

It is possible for Elden Ring to require over 100 hours to complete if all side bosses are faced and the entire game is finished. Therefore, it is likely that Orton played through the game multiple times during his recovery and after returning to the ring.

Orton’s adoration for the Elden Ring has been extensively recorded. He has publicly shared his experiences with the game on social media and is rumored to have hired assistance in leveling up his character after facing difficulties in the initial stages of the game.

Despite this new reveal, it is apparent that the wrestler has either mastered the early stages of the game or is investing excessive amounts of money to have others level up their characters for each playthrough.

Despite being released years ago, Elden Ring has remained popular due to the addition of DLC in early 2024 and Kai Cenat’s continuous livestreams of the game.
