Treyarch games have historically prioritized gunplay over scorestreaks, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 continues this trend. In the beta, available streaks were largely fire-and-forget, with a few standout exceptions. Below, we will rank all currently known streaks and include additional ones at the full release.
Best Scorestreaks in Black Ops 6, Ranked
During the open beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, eight scorestreaks were revealed. Five of these are fire-and-forget, requiring no player input to operate. Four of the eight are also non-lethal but provide significant advantages to your team. With perks like Bankroll and Dispatcher, obtaining these non-lethal streaks has become simpler. However, only two streaks should be a staple in your loadout, which we will explore now, along with other available options.
Tied for #1. UAV
Control of the radar is crucial in Call of Duty, and until we see if there is an SR-71 or Orbital VSAT equivalent in Black Ops 6, the UAV remains essential for maintaining team awareness. Its purpose is unchanged: any enemy not utilizing Ghost will appear as a red dot on the minimap periodically. If your teammates pay attention, they will be alerted to threats and can respond accordingly. Ghost may pose more of a challenge upon release, but during the beta, very few players opted to use it, making the UAV exceedingly effective.
Tied for #1: Counter UAV
Having always preferred using UAVs and Counter UAVs since Black Ops 2, I can say that stacking these two is an excellent strategy for building towards higher-tier streaks. Every assist from having either one in play grants 15 score, with 30 per kill while both are active. Interestingly, this bonus continues after death, allowing you to call in both upon respawn for a quick return to scoring. Many players overly rely on the minimap (myself included), so deploying a Counter UAV significantly diminishes its effectiveness.
#3: Hellstorm Missile
The Hellstorm Missile, a staple in Treyarch’s arsenal, presents a new twist in Black Ops 6. Players now control missiles as they descend from the sky, offering better precision than in previous games where you merely designated an area for multiple projectiles to strike. This change enhances the Hellstorm’s gameplay, making it reminiscent of classic Predator Missiles while providing more control over its impact.
#4: Scout Pulse
I would rank the Scout Pulse higher if it functioned similar to the SatCom in CoD Ghosts, providing radar blips for both players and nearby allies instead of just for oneself. While that might be slightly unbalanced for such an affordable streak, it would certainly offer extra value. As it stands, the Scout Pulse serves as a useful means to facilitate access to UAV, Counter UAV, or any lethal options.
#5: Interceptors
The effectiveness of Interceptors largely depends on the activity of airborne streaks upon launch. During the beta, when a helicopter appeared, the opposing team usually targeted it efficiently, resulting in minimal kills. However, Interceptors excel in clearing the skies filled with enemy UAVs and other air support. Their relatively high cost of 1,100 score makes them less appealing without assured efficacy like in Cold War.
#6: RC-XD
The classic RC-XD from Treyarch remains just as inexpensive and effective in Black Ops 6 as in previous titles in the series. Although its sound is distinctive, its speed and compact design make it challenging to evade. Flak Jacket won’t save players from a close-range explosion, and unless teammates react promptly, survival is unlikely.
#7: Watchdog Helo
The Watchdog Helo is expensive yet surprisingly easy to shoot down and often proves ineffective. My personal experience yielded minimal kills, making me question its value compared to using standard weaponry. While it may distract opponents, if it cannot contribute significantly to the team’s efforts, its usefulness remains questionable.
#?: Chopper Gunner
I didn’t manage to unlock the Chopper Gunner during the Black Ops 6 beta, nor did I experience it from adversaries. If it mirrors the Chopper Gunner from Black Ops 1 or other iterations, it could become a significant threat on the battlefield. Priced at 1,600 score, I hope it retains its potency for effective use.
These are my current rankings for all scorestreaks in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. With the game’s official launch, I anticipate the list of available streaks to expand significantly, potentially including attack dogs from previous titles.
