Attention, Anime enthusiasts, get ready for the highly praised creations of Rumiko Takahashi to return in full force this year. The beloved romantic comedy anime, Ranma ½, will be receiving an anime adaptation by Mappa Studio. On July 17, 2024, a key visual and trailer for the upcoming project were unveiled, along with details on the voice cast and production team. The eagerly awaited anime is scheduled to debut on NTV and Netflix on October 5, 2024.

The manga was originally serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday from August 1987 to March 1996, spanning a total of 38 volumes.

The once peaceful existence of Ranma is on the brink of chaos due to the blizzard curse he shares with his father, his complicated relationships with the Tendo sisters, and numerous other challenges looming ahead.

As the 16-year-old heir to the ‘Anything Goes Martial Arts’ school, Ranma Saotome has dedicated his life to training alongside his father. During one of their training sessions, they unintentionally stumble into the cursed spring of Jusenkyo. This spring has the power to transform its victims into the form of whoever had drowned in it years ago when exposed to cold water. As a result, Ranma finds himself transforming into a girl, while his father takes on the form of a Panda.

However, Ranma’s troubles do not stop there. He is forced to come to terms with his new betrothed, Akane, who comes from the Tendo Dojo and was arranged to marry him by their parents prior to the event. With his curse form, a tough and stubborn fiancée, and a group of new acquaintances bound to create chaos, Ranma must now navigate through his new life.
