Currently up for purchase in the Bright Dust store is one of the most elusive shaders in Destiny 2. By buying it, you can join the exclusive ranks of players who possess this rare item.
Per usual, the weekly reset delivered a selection of fresh challenges for Guardians to take on. Furthermore, the Bright Dust Store was updated, offering a diverse array of enticing cosmetics that can be acquired with in-game currency.
This week’s rotation in the Bright Dust Store featured Neon Splash, a highly coveted Shader that is currently owned by only 3% of players, according to Light.gg. The Shader is available for purchase in the featured section of the store for 300 Bright Dust.
Despite appearing scarce at first, its true rarity will be even more limited due to the tendency of Light.gg to cater to a dedicated community. Many casual Guardians are unlikely to use the platform or possess the shader.
Neon Splash’s rarity is not determined by its difficulty to obtain or its exclusivity to end-game content. Instead, the premium shader was previously exclusively purchasable with Silver, requiring the use of real money to acquire it.
The Divine Devastation Bundle, priced at 1,000 Silver or approximately $9.99 or £8.49, was offered and included the Divinity weapon ornament ‘Augmented Apotheosis’ and the ghost projection ‘Ether Engine Projection’.
When Neon Splash was first introduced in Season 23, it faced criticism for its preview not accurately reflecting its appearance in-game. Even with the shader revamp in The Final Shape, this remains mostly true, as certain guns still do not resemble what the preview shows.
Luckily, you have the option to preview the appearance of the shader on your weapons and armor before buying it in the Bright Dust Store. All you have to do is hover over it in the store and press the appropriate button (right-click, Y, or Triangle) depending on your platform.
