Rawdog Simulator leaves players baffled as “weird” flight trend becomes a game

After videos of “raw-dogging”flights gained popularity on TikTok, Rawdog Airlines developed a simulation game that allows players to experience a long flight without leaving their homes.

In June, there was a viral trend among TikTokers known as “raw-dogging”flights. This involved passengers staring at the seat in front of them and getting rid of any distractions such as accessories or meals.

Certain participants have purposely extended their time without food, water, sleep, and music to more than 10 hours during their flights.

Following the widespread popularity of raw-dogging, Rawdog Airlines developed a game that simulates an online flight experience for players.

In order to participate, individuals can generate a username and input fabricated airline details such as flight schedule and destination.

The simulator then guides players through the terminal and onto an airplane, where they can join other passengers. Additionally, players have the freedom to select any available seat on the flight.

At the start of the game, you will see a message on your device that says, “Engines warming up… Eye tracker booting. .. Locking in (please grant camera permissions, direct your focus to the screen, and wait for the lock)”.

The objective of the game is to maintain your focus for the maximum duration possible. Upon completion of the game, the leaderboard displays the top 10 players and their respective times of staring at the simulator.

“Rawdog Airlines clarified on their homepage that their gaze tracking technology, which is delivered through the built-in camera on a participant’s smartphone, tablet, or other computer device, will detect when the participant’s eyes move away from the screen and will pause the game’s timer on their website accordingly.”

The Rawdog Simulator game is free to play and does not require any real money. However, players will encounter a simulated travel expenses checklist before takeoff, which they must accept along with the terms and conditions.

Following the spread of news about the simulation game, numerous gaming enthusiasts expressed their disapproval.

According to one user on X, the game involves winning by doing absolutely nothing and simply staring at a virtual seat back for hours. It can be compared to real air travel, but without the added distractions of tiny pretzels and crying babies. This makes it a perfect option for those who prefer a less stimulating gaming experience.

“Another person chimed in, saying, ‘This is simply. .. something.’”

Despite some criticism of players for being “bored”enough to participate in the “strange”game, it is inevitable that it will become as popular as the actual raw-dogging experience.
