As season 2 of Reacher nears its end, lead actor Alan Ritchson has already given fans a taste by confirming the development of season 3, in a muddy new photo.
Season 2 of Reacher continued to adapt Lee Child’s popular books, with Alan Ritchson returning as Jack Reacher. The new season has been a success so far, and it’s not going to stop: the actor revealed in advance that Amazon had renewed it for a third season.
Details on this next installment are still rare, with spectators not knowing which book will be adapted this time. Fans can already assume that Jack will once again hit the road, heading to another region of the country. With all the troubles that might imply for the gruff character.
Season 3 of Reacher already confirmed, and Alan Ritchson was responsible for providing news on its progress.
Jack Reacher will return for season 3 of Reacher
Before the last episode of season 2, Alan Ritchson shared a photo on his Instagram to release valuable information to fans: this There it is, the team has once again taken over the set for the filming of season 3.
In his post, he appears covered in dried and cracked mud, but visibly delighted. The caption reads: “Well…we’re back. Season 3 of Reacher… I’m “sludging” with impatience.”
Unfortunately, its release doesn’t reveal any concrete details about what we can expect from the new season. For fans of the series, there is nothing surprising to see the hero all muddy, but the change is good after the blood and tears of the last episodes of season 2.
However, this muddy touch has already been enough to create theories among Reacher audiences, who are looking to find the novel that will be adapted this time. And the guesses are already going well on social networks, including in comments on the Instagram post:
“I’ll say it now: it’s Alan who shoots the scene in the White House Caves in which Jack crawls underground while trying not to panic because of his claustrophobia. I bet they will adapt this book for season 3!”
The Cellars of the White House, or Die Trying in the original version, is the second volume in the series. Jack is kidnapped in Chicago while helping a young woman, and finds himself hanging out with the wrong people.
The book adapted in season 3 of Reacher not yet officially announced
According to Cinemablend, the actor has already teased the choice of the novel for season 3 of Reacher: “We have already announced it? I wish I could do it. It’s one of my favorite books. This book is in all the top 10. It will make people very happy.”
If The White House Cellars could indeed be the book in question, there is another challenger that stands out widely among Reacher fans: season 3 would thus be the adaptation of the fifteenth volume of the series of novels, The Cause was beautiful (or Worth Dying For in English). In the story written by Lee Child, Jack intervenes when a doctor refuses to help a woman who is a victim of domestic violence. He then discovers that the husband of the woman in question is in fact a man of influence.
Finally, season 3 of Reacher could also resume the plot of Furious Madness (One Shot in original version), in which a comrade from Jack’s past finds himself wrongly accused of a deadly shooting.
In the meantime, both seasons of Reacher are available on Prime Video.
