Reactions to EXO Suho’s Use of AI in ‘Cheese’ MV Spark Controversy

Despite differing opinions, both EXO-Ls and Bunnyzens have expressed their thoughts on Suho’s use of AI in the music video for his latest song, “Cheese,”which features Red Velvet’s Wendy.

On May 20, the music video and digital release for the double title track “Cheese”were simultaneously made available on multiple music platforms, preceding the official launch of his 3rd mini-album, “1 to 3,”on June 3.

The second lead track with the same name will be revealed on May 31st before this.

During this time, EXO-Ls (EXO fandom) and Bunnyzens (Suho solo fandom) expressed their enthusiasm as Red Velvet Wendy and Suho displayed their vocal harmony while conveying the lyrics about their past romance.

The statement draws a parallel between “Cheese”and love, stating that they both have a similar reaction to temperature – becoming solid and brittle when cold, and soft and fluid when warm.

After the MV was revealed, fans were quick to praise its creative concept and the comical chemistry between the two, drawing rave reviews.

Regrettably, the male idol did not receive complete admiration after his fans expressed dissatisfaction with his use of AI.

An X account expressed their disappointment with Suho’s decision to use the new technology instead of hiring professional artists to create genuine art, which he has been consistently doing since his debut.

In response, numerous fans concurred and asserted that the argument was valid, as Suho’s previous emphasis on classical art was what distinguished him from other soloists. They criticized it as “unethical,””unauthentic,”and “lazy.”

Despite this, Eris defended Suho and argued that his use of AI did not diminish the value of his art. She also confronted the original poster. Some fans speculated that the fan was simply envious of Suho’s collaboration with Wendy in the MV and urged them to depart from the fandom.

Despite Suho’s supporters discovering “receipts”of the OP “hating”on Wendy, they also found evidence of the OP supporting AI by creating AI artworks inspired by the releases of Suho and other idols.

Despite the ongoing debate, Suho’s song “Cheese”received widespread support from international fans when it reached the top of the iTunes Top Songs chart in 21 countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Finland, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, Argentina, Bulgaria, Chile, Oman, Peru, El Salvador, and more.
