Despite differing opinions, both EXO-Ls and Bunnyzens have expressed their thoughts on Suho’s use of AI in the music video for his latest song, “Cheese,”which features Red Velvet’s Wendy.
On May 20, the music video and digital release for the double title track “Cheese”were simultaneously made available on multiple music platforms, preceding the official launch of his 3rd mini-album, “1 to 3,”on June 3.
The second lead track with the same name will be revealed on May 31st before this.
During this time, EXO-Ls (EXO fandom) and Bunnyzens (Suho solo fandom) expressed their enthusiasm as Red Velvet Wendy and Suho displayed their vocal harmony while conveying the lyrics about their past romance.
The statement draws a parallel between “Cheese”and love, stating that they both have a similar reaction to temperature – becoming solid and brittle when cold, and soft and fluid when warm.
After the MV was revealed, fans were quick to praise its creative concept and the comical chemistry between the two, drawing rave reviews.
Regrettably, the male idol did not receive complete admiration after his fans expressed dissatisfaction with his use of AI.
An X account expressed their disappointment with Suho’s decision to use the new technology instead of hiring professional artists to create genuine art, which he has been consistently doing since his debut.
it’s so incredibly disappointing to see a man who built his solo career on real art (his creative direction being heavily inspired by vincent van gogh, having his self portraits done by real artists for his first album) take 10 steps back and use ai in his music video #SUHO #수호 https://t.co/qYrgLMBVSr

you can’t support art and then turn around and do this it’s so… like i can’t believe that he would do it and i don’t want anyone making excuses for him either. he’s an educated man who has shown a passion for the arts but then???????????????
— Dani ♡ (@jjunmyoen) May 20, 2024
he has been so incredibly inspired by art in all its forms – from film to music to paintings to novels. this is so incredibly sad to witness.

In response, numerous fans concurred and asserted that the argument was valid, as Suho’s previous emphasis on classical art was what distinguished him from other soloists. They criticized it as “unethical,””unauthentic,”and “lazy.”
i didn’t know he used ai, im actually really disappointed 😭 it just feels.. unauthentic and lazy

And if people keep allowing idols to use Ai it will just get worse and worse…

this is genuine criticism, i don’t see why everyone’s getting their panties in a twist 🤨 is it wrong to disagree with things our faves do from time to time????? https://t.co/oWsJvMfWiV

Op has a valid critism really😭 kpop stans in the comments needs to understand how much a/i affects artists career especially if they do art as a full time job😭 art is supposed to be unique, it supposed to convey meaning in their piece https://t.co/D388DA9J2g

Despite this, Eris defended Suho and argued that his use of AI did not diminish the value of his art. She also confronted the original poster. Some fans speculated that the fan was simply envious of Suho’s collaboration with Wendy in the MV and urged them to depart from the fandom.
Despite Suho’s supporters discovering “receipts”of the OP “hating”on Wendy, they also found evidence of the OP supporting AI by creating AI artworks inspired by the releases of Suho and other idols.
‘i don’t like wendy on INDIVIDUAL LEVEL’ and proceed to not listen to her music online, so much for INDIVIDUAL level cuz music performance should be evaluated separate from INDIVIDUAL feelings about the artist and u wrote ‘I’m in a way signalling her out’ just stop w hypocrisy https://t.co/JsowTdAoOf pic.twitter.com/OG3X1oiSzv

You’re just making excuses, remove JM from your bias list, you’re very dramatic. Do you hate this collaboration because of Wendy? Is that right? You don’t deserve him. Very rude, I won’t forget you, girl. Stay away from JM and don’t talk about JM anymore. https://t.co/tSqUqLMbqN pic.twitter.com/hsK99rCYQJ
