Reactions to Netflix’s Release Schedule Change for Final Season of Outer Banks

Fans of Outer Banks have expressed their disappointment on social media towards Netflix for altering the release schedule of the final season.

Despite premiering just four years ago, Outer Banks, Netflix’s sun-soaked teen drama, will be coming to a close with its upcoming final season.

Despite the excitement of fans to see the conclusion of John B and his friends’ treasure hunting journey, some are unable to fully embrace the anticipation due to a significant alteration made by the streaming service to the season premiere.

Instead of following the same pattern as previous entries and releasing all 10 episodes on one day, Part One of Season 4 will debut on October 10 and Part Two will follow on November 7.

Despite the fact that one fan expressed their dissatisfaction with this arrangement on X/Twitter, stating “It’s so dumb, I just wait till everything drops to binge now. there’s really no point,”many viewers still voiced their displeasure with this setup.

One person expressed their preference for the release of one episode per week, stating that if the season is going to be split, it should be fully committed to.

Another viewer expressed the same sentiment, stating “We need to confront the person at Netflix responsible for splitting seasons”in response to the frustration with the joke.

This is not the initial instance in which Netflix has chosen to divide a highly anticipated season of a beloved series, as they established this practice with the release of Stranger Things Season 4.

Ever since, they have carefully handpicked projects to follow this approach, such as Bridgerton Season 3 and Emily in Paris Season 4.

Netflix divided Cobra Kai Season 6 into three parts, releasing them separately as “mini-seasons”.

Despite the ongoing discussion around this topic, Cobra Kai stood out by taking a different approach. According to showrunner Jon Hurwitz, the final 15 episodes of the show are divided into three distinct mini-seasons, all coming together to tell one epic finale.

Despite the potential dislike from some Netflix users, this release model is here to stay for the foreseeable future as it has demonstrated significant success.

Bridgerton Season 3 was officially confirmed, as Deadline reported that the show had accumulated 5.7 billion owned impressions, ranking it as the third most popular project on the English list.
