Fast forward to today, after several years and numerous character additions, Pokemon Unite is facing delisting issues in specific regions. The reasons behind this development are somewhat complex. Where is Pokemon Unite being delisted?
As of now, Pokemon Unite is set to be delisted in Belgium and The Netherlands. Players in these regions have already noticed this change, as evidenced by a Reddit post. This information has also been confirmed by Serebii.
While there hasn’t been an official announcement on the Pokemon Unite website yet, the delisting appears to be scheduled for November 30, 2025. Additionally, sales of Aeos Gems and user registrations will cease on October 31, 2024.
Why is Pokemon Unite being delisted?
Belgium has implemented significantly more restrictive regulations regarding loot boxes and microtransactions compared to other countries. These laws often prohibit games from selling any virtual item without a clear definition of its nature.
For instance, if a player purchases an item that offers a ‘chance’ to obtain a rare item while likely receiving a common item instead, it creates ambiguity about what they are actually buying.
Due to these laws, previous titles like Pokemon Masters EX are already banned in Belgium and The Netherlands, and the upcoming Pokemon TCG Pocket will also not be released in these regions.
