Kagurabachi, a popular new-generation manga, was created by Takeru Hokazono who cites David Fincher and Quentin Tarantino as major influences for the book.
The release of Kagurabachi’s debut generated immense excitement among Shonen enthusiasts who were eagerly awaiting this new action-packed manga. With over 40 chapters currently available, the manga continues to gain even more popularity.
In July of 2024, the manga achieved a significant sales milestone. The Rakuzaichi Arc had recently concluded, with Chihiro extending an invitation to join the Kamunabi. As the young sorcerer faces further peril, creator Hokazono revealed his inspirations for the manga in an interview with 47 News, as shared by sandman on X/Twitter.

The creator explains that Shonen Jump is home to iconic manga such as One Piece. They were inspired to introduce a new manga featuring a subdued, brooding protagonist, as the magazine did not have many revenge-themed stories. Thus, they created Kagurabachi.
“While I draw inspiration from Tarantino and David Fincher, I aim to avoid creating a simplistic narrative that glorifies revenge. Similar to Hollywood films, my work Kagurabachi portrays an exaggerated version of Japan.”
Despite the global shutdown, Hokazon was able to achieve his dream of creating a manga. He credits his parents for supporting him when he made the decision to drop out of college. Fans of Kagurabachi express their enthusiasm for the inclusion of Hollywood references and the captivating nature of the ongoing story.
