The guide covers all the steps of the beigoma quest in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, which allows players to recruit Reid as a playable character.
How to Recruit Reid in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
In order to enlist Reid’s help in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, you must first complete a quest that involves the beigoma mini game. This quest is known to be the lengthiest and most challenging recruitment quest in the game, and it can also be quite confusing, especially in the beginning.
Once you have completed the mandatory story content in Hishahn, you will encounter Reid in the western side of Eltisweiss, near the area where the beigoma mini game is played. After introducing yourself to Reid and initiating the beigoma quest line, head to the previously vacant house on the west side of town. Dr. Corque, another potential ally, can be found there and he will provide you with your first beigoma. You may choose whichever one you like, but it will not remain in your possession for long.
Reid will invite you to participate in a beigoma bout, providing you with an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the mini game. Later on, you will need to challenge other beigoma users, known as spinadiers, in order to progress and eventually face off against the formidable beigoma opponent, Crash. However, this will not be happening immediately.
Put This Quest on the Back Burner Until You Reach Vilashnu
If you immediately attempt to challenge spinadiers in the vicinity in order to progress Reid’s recruitment mission, you will discover that your current beigoma team is unable to defeat any of them. There is a notable disparity in strength between your tops and those of your adversaries. Though you will acquire superior beigoma from enemies as you journey, it would be wise to postpone this recruitment task until you reach the voluntary dungeon Vilashnu, so as to complete it in one go.
Once the events in Athrabalt have concluded, you can encounter Dijkstra the Steeryn at the Twinhorne East docks. Initiate his recruitment quest by speaking to him, and he will lead you to Vilashnu. In case you are unable to obtain the beigoma during your first visit, you can always return to this spot after completing Dijkstra’s recruitment quest.
Waiting until you reach Vilashnu may seem like putting off the quest until the end of the game, but it can actually save you from many frustrating losses against generic spinadiers. Despite Reid being a mediocre unit, his recruitment is essential for achieving Eiyuden Chronicle’s best ending, which requires recruiting all characters. Therefore, it is beneficial to wait until the end of the game to complete Reid’s recruitment quest.
Get Three-Star Beigoma From Enemies in The Chelonian Goliath, Vilashnu
Once you are able to enter The Chelonian Goliath dungeon and encounter Vilashnu, you can begin to focus on obtaining high-quality beigoma. There are three specific enemies in this dungeon that drop three-star beigoma:
- Azhdahag ,
- Earth Dragon,
- In addition to Jormungandr, there are also Nidhoggr.
The beigoma are named after the monsters that dropped them. All of these enemies are vulnerable to slashing attacks.
During Reid’s recruitment quest, you will encounter Dr. Corque, who has a support ability that boosts the likelihood of obtaining a beigoma from battles. However, it is still possible to obtain beigomas from these enemies even without his help. It is recommended to start battling spinadiers after obtaining the Azhdahag, Earth Dragon, and Nidhoggr beigomas. [badges – you could stack them all]
Beigoma Battle Basics
Although it is not explicitly stated in the game, understanding the elements and types of tops can provide a small advantage in battle. While it is not necessary, it may be helpful to choose your beigoma based on these factors.
In terms of types, the “Attack”type is strong against “Magic,””Magic”is strong against “Guard,”and “Guard”is strong against “Attack,”just like in a regular battle. However, elements do play a role in beigoma, with Water being strong against Fire, Fire being strong against Wind, Wind being strong against Earth, and Earth being strong against Water. Types may have a slightly greater impact in beigoma battles.
Defeat Spinadiers and Recruit Dr. Corque
Having acquired a sufficiently strong beigoma to aid you in completing Reid’s recruitment mission, your next step is to recruit Dr. Corque. This can be achieved by locating and defeating the spinadiers in the designated areas:
- all world,
- Kyshiri Village,
- Werne,
- Additionally, there is Eltisweiss.
A spinadier can be identified by their proximity to a bowl-shaped beigoma battle board.
With your team of three-star beigoma, defeating the four spinadiers above will be a much simpler task. Once you have taken care of them, make your way to the house where Dr. Corque first gave you your beigoma. Speak to him and he will become a valuable member of your alliance.
Defeat Crash’s Lackey and Half of the Four Spintinels
To proceed with Reid’s mission in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, head to Dr. Corque’s recently established workplace at your headquarters, situated southwest of your castle. Upon arrival, Reid will propose a beigoma match using a pair of two-star tops, which should be no match for your three-star beigoma. Once you emerge victorious, you will need to track down one of Crash’s henchmen.
If you head to Daphan Village, you’ll find Venom near the inn. He’ll be with Crash and standing next to a beigoma board, so he shouldn’t be hard to spot. Defeating Venom in a beigoma battle will be a breeze with your three-star tops. Once you emerge victorious, Reid will appear and inform you about the Four Spintinels. It seems that the beigoma mini game has its own Elite Four.
Before attempting to defeat the Four Spintinels, it is recommended to first defeat two regular spinadiers. This will prepare you for the first Spintinel, Thudd, who will only challenge you once you have proven your strength by defeating the spinadiers. Once you have completed this task, locate Thudd in Arenside Village and use your three-star beigoma to challenge him. If you are successful, you will earn the three-star beigoma Earthsmack to add to your collection.
After defeating two additional generic spinadiers, head to the Treefolk Village to battle Zeph the Wind Spintinel. Upon defeating him, you will receive the three-star beigoma Trinity Cyclone.
A Powered-Up Reid and the Remaining Four Spintinels
Upon defeating half of the Four Spintinels, make your way back to Dr. Corque’s headquarters to face Reid once again. Although he now possesses all three-star beigoma, your own beigoma are more than capable of handling them. While there is no reward for winning, you will have the opportunity to challenge three additional regular spinadiers and eventually face Flowe the Water Spintinel in Hishahn.
After witnessing Flowe easily defeat Venom, take on the challenge of facing her team consisting of three-star Azure Dragon tops. Upon emerging victorious, you will be awarded one for your own use.
Conquer four ordinary spinadiers before confronting Pyre, the Fire Spintinel, at Impershi’arc. Prove your skills in a beigoma battle against him and gain Galactic Flame for your team.
Topple Crash and Finally Recruit Reid
Pyre affirms that Crash is indeed in the Imperial city of Ardinale. The moment has come to eliminate him once and for all and bring an end to this recruitment mission.
Although Crash’s four-star Devil of Destruction tops may seem intimidating, your three-star tops are more than capable of defeating them. Despite not having any elemental advantage, Devil of Destruction tops are all Attack type, so using Earthsmack from Thudd and other Attack beigoma like Galactic Flame and Trinity Cycle in your lineup will be effective. It is recommended to avoid using Magic beigoma for this match. Winning duels and strategically using your top’s boost skill will be crucial in defeating Crash’s four-star tops. Additionally, if you notice that his top is close to falling, activating your top’s boost skill can deliver a final blow of damage.
Conquer Crash in order to acquire a Devil of Destruction for yourself, and to finally recruit Reid to your team of heroes.
After completing this quest, you can obtain four-star beigoma, such as Neo Absolute Zero, by defeating Reid once he joins your team. In addition, there is an achievement for defeating all of the game’s spinadiers. However, you may want to pause your search for beigoma and instead focus on recruiting other characters, such as Rody or Momo.
