Red Dead Redemption PC Port Leaked by Rockstar Games’ Website

After a long 14-year wait, it seems that Rockstar Games may finally be preparing to release 2010’s Red Dead Redemption for PC. This exciting news comes from the reliable source Tez2, who noticed significant updates to Rockstar’s PC launcher website.

According to a screenshot shared by the leaker on X, Rockstar made updates to the site on Monday, May 13, as shown by new marketing strings.

At this time, Rockstar Games has not officially announced the release of Red Dead Redemption and its popular Undead Nightmare expansion on PC. However, a string from the backend suggests that players will soon be able to embark on a journey through the vast landscapes of the American West and Mexico in both games.

In response, Tez2 pointed out that the marketing tactics used for Red Dead Redemption’s rumored PC release are similar to those used by Rockstar for their GTA 5 promotions.

However, prior to August 2023, the 2010 Red Dead adventure was exclusively available on seventh-gen hardware, with the exception of being able to play it through emulators on PC.

Thanks to Xbox’s dedication to backward compatibility, players on Xbox One were able to relive John Marston’s journey in 2016. And now, in 2023, both PS4 and Nintendo Switch users can experience the re-release of RDR1 and Undead Nightmare for just $50.

Despite the disappointment of both long-time fans and franchise newcomers, the re-release did not include any remaster-quality enhancements. This meant that highly desired improvements in graphics and performance were not included, although players using PS4 Pro and PS5 were able to play the game in 4K resolution.

Despite the ongoing wait for Red Dead Redemption’s PC port, PC players were able to access Red Dead 2 relatively quickly. The prequel was released on the Rockstar Games Launcher and Steam in late 2019, only one year after its initial launch on PS4 and Xbox One.
