The highly anticipated expansion for World of Warcraft, The War Within, will be released worldwide on August 26, 2024. However, players who have access to The War Within’s Epic Edition can enjoy early access four days earlier on August 22, 2024. This privilege comes at a cost of $89.99, so be prepared to spend a bit more for the early access experience.

World of Warcraft: The War Within Season 1
The first season of the expansion will commence approximately two weeks after its launch. It will feature a new raid focused on the Nerubian forces at the core of Azj-Kahet. Although the specifics and mechanics of this new location and event have yet to be revealed, players can anticipate an exciting and perilous challenge.
Azj-Kajet is a subterranean region situated deep within Khaz Algar. Known as the capital city of the Nerubian race, Azj-Kajet is the only remaining home for its inhabitants. In the expansion, the primary antagonist, Xal’atath, makes her way to Azj-Kajet and strikes a deal with its ruler, Queen Ansurek, in order to strengthen her forces against the heroes of Azeroth. In exchange, Xal’atath promises Queen Ansurek a brighter future for the Nerubian race, bringing back their lost honor and glory as ancient arachnoids.

It is at this point where the story truly moves forward. It appears that Queen Ansurek and her army will have a significant role in Season 1’s progression, as Xal’atath’s nefarious schemes start to unfold. Players can expect the area of Azj-Kajet to be a popular destination in the later stages of the game.
