The Dark Horizon DLC for Remnant 2 introduces optional quests that yield some of the finest mutators and weapon mods, making them a worthwhile endeavor. One of these quests requires you to find the Repair Lab and restore the Prototype Robot by retrieving its missing components. This guide will provide you with detailed instructions on how to locate all the essential parts to finish the quest.
Locations of All Prototype Robot Parts in Remnant 2
You will need to locate a total of four Prototype parts, some of which you will naturally find while exploring dungeons and various locations in The Dark Horizon DLC. To fully repair the Prototype Robot and reap the rewards, you must collect all four components.
Prototype Head
The first component, the Prototype Head, is the most straightforward to acquire, and you will locate it at the start of the DLC. It is advisable to launch the DLC by selecting Adventure Mode from the World Stone and creating a new Adventure.
If this is your first experience with the DLC, you will observe that it features a One-Shot mode, which ensures that your explorations encompass the majority of the DLC content.
After a short introductory cutscene where your character comes crashing down, you will encounter a robot that reveals its head. Make sure to collect it as this piece will likely be the first you present to the Prototype Robot. You can find the Quiescent Overlook World Stone checkpoint in the Agronomy Sector.
Prototype Arm
The next component is the Prototype Arm, also found within the Agronomy Sector. After securing the Prototype Head, continue along the path and utilize the gliding drone to advance.
To traverse the toxic purple liquid on the ground, catch two updrafts of air, allowing you to safely drop onto the other side.
Once over, take a left to discover a crop field at the far end, where a glider drone awaits. You’ll notice a red light emanating from a hole in the distance, which requires you to cross another gap over purple liquid. Ride the glider drone down, ready yourself for combat against several foes, including a specter, beyond the electrical webs.
Once you’ve vanquished them, look for the Prototype Arm lying atop a dismantled robot.
Prototype Claws
The next component, the Prototype Claw, can be located at the far edge of a broken bridge in the Withering Necropolis area. You might either explore the vicinity or use a nearby World Stone to check if the ‘Waylaid Conservatory’ appears on the N’Erud world map.
If it is visible on the map, fast-travel there and proceed straight ahead before taking a left. Stay to the left side of the expansive area, and follow the path uphill until you spot another glider drone waiting at the top. Utilize it to descend and observe the broken bridge below.
Head down to the right end of the bridge, battle a few enemies, and reach the far end. The Prototype Claw will be lying on the ground to the left, near the wall.
Prototype Memory Core
For the final piece, the Memory Core, return to the area where you found the Claw part. Turn around and head to the opposite end of that broken bridge. You’ll come across a staircase leading down to a path where you can spot a glowing orange, sword-like object near the crops.
Next, use the glider drone to your right, glide down and pass through the opening on your right. Once you land on the platform, continue along the path until you reach the end, where the Prototype Memory Core awaits.
Finding the Repair Lab and Delivering All Parts to the Robot in Remnant 2
After collecting all four parts, your next task is to find the Repair Lab where you can repair the Prototype Robot.
If you haven’t yet discovered the Repair Lab, start from an elevated point near the broken bridge where you can survey the area. Look towards the far end of the bridge, and below you, a yellow door will signal the entrance to the next area to explore.
Make your way there to locate the Repair Lab.
Option 1
The first choice allows you to hand over all the collected parts to the Prototype Robot, avoiding a boss fight, and in return, you will receive the Spirit Alternator Ring along with the B.O.T. achievement.
To proceed with this option, simply give all four parts to the Prototype Robot, ensuring to activate the button on the Prototype Memory Core. To do this, select the Memory Core from your inventory and press the button on its top before delivering the component to the Prototype Robot to prevent a boss encounter.
Option 2
If you opt not to press the button on the Memory Core before handing it to the robot, this action will transform the NPC into a secret boss. Defeating this secret boss rewards you with the Shield Alternator Ring and the Charged Wounds Mutator.
