Re:Monster episode 2: “Awakening to a New World”

In the second episode of Re:Monster, it is revealed that the human women held captive by the goblins had tragically passed away due to consuming poison. The Goblin elder and Gobrou proceed to cremate the bodies, with the elder grieving for the loss without realizing that Gobrou had secretly given the women the poison out of compassion and worry.

As time passed, Gobrou continued to train the young goblins who had joined his mentorship. During a training session, a band of evolved goblins emerged from the forest and approached them. In response, Gobrou and Gobukichi prepared to fight off the potential threat. However, the goblin elder intervened and revealed that they were part of the goblin expedition team mentioned in the first episode of this isekai anime, stopping the two from attacking.

Upon their return, the expedition team disclosed that they had taken several human women during their journey and planned to use them as replacements for the ones who had perished. Gobrou inquired about the possibility of receiving these women, but was met with resistance from the older generation of goblins who made up the expedition team.

Gobrou and the leader of the expedition team engage in a battle to determine who will lead the goblins. Gobrou emerges victorious, utilizing his diverse abilities, and becomes the leader of the entire goblin population, including both the older and younger generations.

The episode concludes with Gobrou successfully quelling the rebellion of the older goblins and venturing further into the forest to battle more mystical creatures. In a perilous encounter with a red bear, Gobrou nearly meets his demise before emerging victorious. As a result, Gobrou undergoes a transformation into an ogre and returns to the goblin cave, shocking all who witness his new form.
