Despite being categorized as a limited series, the post-credits scene in episode 7 of Hierarchy season 2 suggests that the K-drama must continue, even though its renewal has not been officially confirmed.
In the latest Netflix original K-drama, Kang Ha embarked on a journey for vengeance by entering Jooshin High School to uncover the truth behind his brother’s untimely demise.
Despite the satisfying closure provided by the ending of Hierarchy, Kang Ha still received an immense sense of closure and redemption for both Ri-an and Woo-jin. The show could have ended perfectly with the final scene of Jae-i visiting her mother, but there was one last surprise after the credits – an epilogue that completely altered the course of events.
Is Hierarchy Season 2 Happening?
Unfortunately, there has been no announcement from the makers or Netflix regarding a second season of ‘Hierarchy.’ However, the series does conclude with enough potential for a potential sequel.
Despite Jae-i’s absence, the dynamic between Ri-an and Kang Ha remains unresolved. Furthermore, there is lingering tension between them as Kang Ha remains unwilling to forgive Ri-an for her role in his brother’s predicament.
The renewal of the series for a second season hinges on the success of the first season. If the first season can attract high streaming numbers, the platform will likely greenlight a second season.
Why does Hierarchy Season 2 look inevitable?
Following the thrilling events of Episode 7, Hierarchy leaves us with an intense post-credits scene. He-ra’s shocking discovery of a bloodied body hints at a continuation of the story and raises questions about the identity of the victim. The immediate response of the main characters, drawn by He-ra’s cries, foreshadows a significant event on the horizon.
Ri-an appeared especially flustered, following a text message he received, seemingly belatedly, informing him that he had a frightened expression.
Despite the conclusion of Hierarchy leading to redemption for most of its characters, it seemed that the school disaster was only the beginning.
Despite the revelation of the deceased student’s identity, the unsolved murder and the mysterious text that Ri-an received, it is clear that Hierarchy episode 7 was full of potential for a second season.
Despite being described as a limited series, it is difficult to believe that there won’t be a second season now that it ended on a major cliffhanger.
3. Did Kang Ha Commit the Murder? Understanding the Next Murder Mystery in Hierarchy
It is possible that the epilogue of Hierarchy is purposely misleading.
Doesn’t the conclusion of Hierarchy episode 7 evoke similar emotions in you? Perhaps it suggests that Kang Ha was responsible for the death of that student and the anonymous message was intended for Ri-an. It also highlights the fact that the malicious man had not yet achieved his desired revenge.
Recall how Kang Ha’s face lit up when Ri-an received a text from an unknown sender? However, this could have all been a false lead.
Despite everything that happened in the finale, it seems highly implausible that Kang Ha would have a motive to harm a student and endanger Ri-an’s life. While the idea of Kang Ha being the antagonist in the second season would certainly be a shocking plot twist, it would ultimately ruin the essence of the character.
Kang Ha’s main goal was to seek justice for his brother, rather than seeking revenge. In addition to identifying his brother’s killer, he also aimed to expose the numerous atrocities occurring at Jooshin High School, including the negligence of the teachers, principal, and board.
Despite facing numerous challenges, Kang Ha persevered and implemented changes from within to improve the school. His efforts even impacted characters like He-ra and Woo-jin, who appeared to have become better individuals by the end of this thrilling K-drama. However, if there is a second season of Hierarchy, Kang Ha may be considered as a potential suspect.
What Does the Hierarchy Season 2 Setup Mean?
If Hierarchy is renewed for a second season, it could take on a completely different tone. In the first season, Kang Ha fought against the influential figures at school to seek the truth about his brother’s fate and seek justice. However, in a potential second season, the focus may shift to the investigation of a new killer.
In the first season, Kang Ha was both a victim and a hero, but in the second season, he finds himself among the list of suspects. Jae-i, who used to live as an heir, is now leading a different life.
It appears that Jae-i has reunited with Ri-an, and the two have openly expressed their love for each other.
The focus of Hierarchy Season 2 will be on the same love triangle between Jae-i, Ri-an, and Kang Ha, but with the added element of a student’s mysterious death as the driving force of the story.
It is likely that the K-drama will require fresh antagonists, as the majority of characters ultimately reconciled and formed positive relationships by the end.
