Report: BLACKPINK’s Rosé Set to Join Teddy’s Label, Agency Responds

After initial reports surfaced stating that BLACKPINK Rosé would be joining producer Teddy’s THEBLACKLABEL, the agency released a brief statement addressing the matter.

On June 17, Newsen released an exclusive report stating that Rosé, the global superstar, has officially joined Teddy’s company, THEBLACKLABEL, after parting ways with YG Entertainment.

Upon hearing the news, media outlets promptly reached out to the label and received a brief response, in which they stated:

“The contract is currently in discussion.”

It can be concluded from this that Rosé is indeed contemplating this possibility, and if the requirements are satisfied for both parties, she will join the same label as Jeon Somi, Park Bogum, Taeyang, Zion.T, Loren, and others.

There is also great anticipation as to whether the female star will sign a singing contract or venture into the world of acting and variety shows.

Meanwhile, Rosé’s recent move has caught the attention of K-pop fans, particularly BLINKs. This decision sets her apart from her fellow BLACKPINK members Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa, who have all left YG and started their own solo agencies.

In December 2023, Jennie founded Odd Atelier (OA), while Lisa introduced LLOUD in February of the current year. She has been actively networking with individuals in the United States, suggesting her plans for expanding her music and acting career beyond Asia on a global scale.

Jisoo relocated to her new home, BLISSOO, where she partnered with her biological older brother to pursue her passions in music and acting.

The primary concern currently is:

“Will BLACKPINK member Rosé fall into the arms of producer Teddy?”

In online communities and social media networks, there is a strong anticipation that the “Gone”singer will hold hands with Teddy, given the 10-year history of mutual trust between them.

The comments include:

  • “I hope she releases an album quickly.”
  • “BLACKPINK songs all come from Teddy’s hands, and it seems to be going well.”
  • “I think they will get along well.”
  • “Whatever it is, I just want her to release an album quickly.”

Before establishing THEBLACKLABEL, Teddy and the current CEO had a history of collaborating musically at YG Entertainment, with the CEO producing many of BLACKPINK’s successful songs such as “Whistle”and “BOOMBAYAH.”

In a 2020 Netflix documentary featuring the quartet, Rosé expressed his fondness for their producer, stating:

“He is a producer who listens to our stories, catches new directions, and always guides us in a good direction. In our hearts, he is the fifth BLACKPINK member.”

Despite the departure of members from YG Entertainment, Rosé remained dedicated and continued collaborating with Teddy. In addition, she even recorded a demo for the theme song of “I-Land 2,”a reality show seeking to discover new members for THEBLACKLABEL’s upcoming girl group.
