Report: Valorant Star Aspas Expresses Dissatisfaction with Leviatán and Possible Departure

Valorant superstar Erick ‘aspas’ Santos is reportedly “unsatisfied” with Leviatán and is considering entering the free market ahead of the 2025 season.

The Brazilian Duelist emerged as one of the most sought-after free agents during the 2024 offseason, having earned VCT Americas MVP honors and contributing significantly to LOUD’s success in major tournaments in 2022 and 2023.

As the Valorant Champions 2022 winner, aspas signed with Leviatán but had a relatively successful 2024 season, attending Masters Shanghai and securing third place at Valorant Champions 2024.

However, internal issues between aspas and Leviatán management have surfaced, according to a report from Brazilian insider Bruno Povoleri.

The player desires more involvement in selecting the team’s roster for the upcoming season, feeling that his opinions are not adequately considered.

aspas was awarded the VCT MVP for the 2024 season.

The report indicates that some within Leviatán claim aspas is consulted on “practically every decision, both past and present, and that every effort has been made to ensure his satisfaction,” according to a machine translation.

However, aspas reportedly “routinely” issues demands to the organization and is “very difficult to please.”

A notable incident that purportedly strained the player’s relationship with Leviatán was the removal of Agustin ‘Nozwerr’ Ibarra just before the outset of the 2024 season.

Additionally, another Brazilian leaker noted that after Nozwerr was removed from the starting lineup, aspas considered leaving the team.

Moreover, the report highlights the team’s mid-season coaching switch as another source of tension between the Brazilian sniper and management. Aspas allegedly wanted Leviatán to recruit Daniel ‘fRoD’ Montaner, his former coach at LOUD, but fRoD had already committed to MIBR.

Aspas would need to negotiate his existing contract with Leviatán to explore the open market and join a new team, as his deal runs through 2025. Alternatively, Leviatán would have to trade or sell him to another organization.

The report suggests that the likelihood of aspas remaining with Leviatán for 2025 is low. Should aspas decide to move, it would signify another significant shift in the ongoing VCT offseason.
