On the afternoon of May 31st, CEO Min Hee-jin made an appearance at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul to discuss her stance on the extraordinary shareholders’ meeting of ADOR that took place earlier in the day.
During the Q&A session, CEO Min was questioned by a reporter regarding the controversy that has affected other idol groups such as ILLIT and LE SSERAFIM. The reporter raised suspicions of a possible connection between BTS and a particular organization. The reporter asked CEO Min for his response and what he would like to say to the affected groups.
CEO Min acknowledged, “NewJeans has also been affected. I believe we have all been impacted by this situation. I am also a human being. One of my employees made a poignant statement, ‘People often forget that Hee-jin is a human being too.’ This applies not only to myself but also to the members of NewJeans and others. Therefore, I think it’s best not to single out a particular group and avoid mentioning it altogether.”
She reiterated, “To truly show concern for journalists and others, we must refrain from discussing this topic. Continuously bringing it up and debating its potential harm only adds to the injury. If we truly care about their well-being, we must refrain from mentioning it.”
CEO Min emphasized the importance of compromise in order to heal the wounds. He stated that a new solution must be found.
During this morning’s extraordinary shareholders’ meeting at ADOR, the removal of two internal directors who were known to have a close relationship with CEO Min was voted on and approved. The newly appointed internal directors are all executives from HYBE: Lee Jae-sang as CSO, Kim Joo-young as CHRO, and Lee Kyung-joon as CFO.
