Norwegian journalist Kjersti Flaa has expressed that she would appreciate an apology following a widely circulated interview with Blake Lively that left her wanting to resign from her job.
In light of the recent controversy surrounding the cast of It Ends With Us, including Blake Lively and director Justin Baldoni, an interview from the 2016 press tour of Woody Allen’s film Cafe Society has resurfaced and gained attention.
The footage depicts Lively expressing her disagreement with Kjersti Flaa’s reference to her pregnancy and critique of the wardrobe in the film, causing a division among fans’ opinions.
According to Flaa, she would appreciate an apology, but she does not anticipate one. During her appearance on Popcorned Planet, she expressed that the interview was unpleasant and that Lively was in a negative mood.
“Flaa shared that during the uncomfortable situation, he was eager for it to end so he could leave the room. He described it as an out of body experience, making it difficult for him to fully comprehend the situation.”
As I reflected on the situation, thoughts raced through my mind: “What did I say? Did I do anything inappropriate? Why are they behaving this way?”The experience was incredibly tense and unpleasant.
According to Flaa, when it comes to apologies, Hollywood has taught him that they are rarely given.
On August 10, Flaa uploaded the interview clip to YouTube with the caption, “My interview with Blake Lively and her co-star Parker Posey for Cafe Society (2016) was one of the most uncomfortable situations I have ever encountered.”
“Is it acceptable to offer congratulations to someone on their pregnancy or inquire about costumes worn by a female actress in a film? Please share your thoughts in the comments.”
After posting the interview, she took to Instagram to express her gratitude, saying, “A big thank you to all the amazing individuals who have reached out to me with messages of support. Your kind words have truly touched me.”
Fans have also criticized Lively for her marketing strategy for It Ends With Us, with some calling it “tone deaf”in its portrayal of domestic abuse.
The celebrity has yet to make a statement on Flaa’s interview or any speculations surrounding the upcoming film.
