Destiny 2’s current sandbox already features a multitude of high-quality weapons competing for the attention of Guardians, and the addition of Episode: Echoes Act 2 will only add another to the mix.
First released during Shadowkeep’s Season of Dawn in 2019, the Shotgun was unfortunately phased out shortly after as Bungie sunset a significant portion of the game’s arsenal.
However, Saint-14’s legendary shotgun is making a comeback with an updated perk selection that is ideal for close combat playstyles.
Prior to discussing the desired rolls, it should be mentioned that Perfect Paradox, along with other Season of Dawn weapons reissued in Echoes, will not be available for crafting. This implies that obtaining the sought-after God roll will depend on chance.
Best Perfect Paradox Roll for PvE
The most advantageous benefits for using Perfect Paradox in PvE are:
- Barrel: Barrel Shroud or Smallbore
- Magazine: Tactical Mag
- Perk 1: Dual Loader or Pugilist
- Perk 2: Trench Barrel, Swashbuckler, or One-Two Punch
- Masterwork: Reload Speed or Handling
The limited choices for perk columns highlight the remarkable adaptability of Perfect Paradox. Although Bungie intended for the Shotgun to be a formidable addition to melee-centric builds, it ultimately falls on the discretion of Guardians to customize the weapon according to their preferences.
Barrel Shroud and Smallbore offer a boost to Stability/Handling and Stability/Range, respectively. Meanwhile, Tactical Mag provides the most value for your money by increasing magazine size and offering modest stat improvements.
The main benefits of making choices become complicated. After receiving a buff in The Final Shape, Dual Loader is a good match for Trench Barrel, whereas Pugilist offers improved synergy with either Swashbuckler or One-Two Punch.
In addition, the guaranteed Origin Trait, Cast No Shadows, complements both options, automatically reloading 20% of the weapon’s magazine from reserves after melee damage is dealt.
One of the best aspects of Perfect Paradox is that it is a Kinetic weapon, meaning it can be paired with Act 2’s Corrasion. This is great news for those who enjoy close-quarters combat.
