Request to Revoke Ban for Dying WoW Player before Molten Core Raid

As World of Warcraft: Season of Discovery enters its final phase, the highly anticipated raids are set to launch soon. Unfortunately, a dedicated WoW player who has been battling a terminal illness will not be able to experience it. They have stated that they were unfairly banned from the game.

The player shared on Reddit that their account had been closed for “exploiting the in-game economy.”

Although this is a significant matter for any WoW player, there are a few reasons why this appeal is causing more controversy. The main reason is that the OP denies any wrongdoing and believes they were unfairly targeted by mass reporting from bots.

Moreover, this perspective is from an individual who had been playing the game long before its official release in 2004 and supposedly had a lengthy history of abiding by the rules.

Despite the upcoming re-release of Molten Core in the Season of Discovery on July 25, the player has been advocating for the ban to be lifted before the raid becomes available. After the initial appeal, the ban was reduced from account closure to a six-month period.

Blizzard has an automated banning system in place, where multiple reports from players regarding the same issue can result in temporary bans. Moreover, serious violations, like the one mentioned above, may result in longer bans without the need for manual verification.

The exact events that took place here are still unclear, however the post has gained significant traction as the player strives to present their case to a Blizzard employee. It is uncertain if this will lead to the ban being overturned.

With the release of the raid in Season of Discovery just days away, it appears improbable that the situation will be resolved prior to Molten Core’s launch on live servers.
