In Part 2, Chainsaw Man continues to introduce formidable villains that complicate Denji’s life. Among them, Yoru, the War Devil, who also functions as one of the four horsemen, has taken over Asa Mitaka’s body.
While the Gun Devil does not appear in his original form, he is now a weapon of the War Devil in chapter 176 of Chainsaw Man. Yoru, after being cornered by Pochita, uses her two children as a last resort, transforming one blown-off arm into the Tank Devil and the other into the Gun Devil.
Yoru, as the War Devil, possesses the ability to transform her ‘children’ (any weapon associated with war that she possesses) into weapons. It is disclosed that in the midst of war, she has become the mother of Gun Devil, who was locked away. This revelation aligns with the fact that the Gun Devil had previously been fragmented into multiple pieces.
Which Antagonists are Expected to Come Next?
With prominent antagonists like Gun Devil, Quanxi, and Makima from Part 1 making an appearance, it’s reasonable to anticipate the return of other devils in Part 2. Given that devils can be reincarnated in the human realm after being killed in hell, there is the potential for more exciting returns crafted by Fujimoto.
Fans are particularly eager to see beloved characters like Power and Reze back in the narrative. Moreover, the elusive Death Devil is anticipated to make a significant appearance as well.
Story of Chainsaw Man Part 2
Following the conclusion of the original series in 2020, Chainsaw Man began serialization of its second part in Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ in July 2022. The ongoing series picks up from chapter 98, focusing on new characters.
This second part primarily centers around the new protagonist, Asa Mitaka, a high school student who forms a contract with the War Devil and finds herself compelled to pursue Chainsaw Man to settle Yoru’s past grievances.

Chainsaw Man is a manga series by Tatsuki Fujimoto that was serialized from December 2018 to 2020 and resumed in July 2022 with a second part. The manga was adapted into an anime series by MAPPA.
The narrative follows Denji, an orphaned boy who works as a devil hunter to pay off his deceased father’s debt.
After his pet devil, Pochita, is killed during a mission, Denji awakens to discover that he and Pochita have merged into one entity, Chainsaw Man. To survive, he must join the government and continue hunting devils.
