Revamping Pokemon Go’s “impossible” Shadow Legendary Raids

Shadow Raids in Pokemon Go are considered one of the most difficult tasks, mainly due to the enraged Boss mechanics and the ineligibility of Remote battles. They pose a significant challenge and many players in the community believe they require a redesign.

In contrast to typical Raids, the Shadow Boss becomes infuriated, resulting in a significant increase in its Attack and Defense stats throughout the battle. Therefore, rather than depending solely on powerful Pokemon to deal high damage, it requires the participation of multiple trainers to defeat it.

Shadow Legendaries dominate the meta with their 20% increase in offensive strength, but at the expense of a 20% decrease in overall durability. Although they may not have the same level of defense as their non-shadow counterparts, their superior damage makes them the top choice for attacking in the game.

These species are highly sought-after by fans, but their Raid restrictions make it difficult for trainers to find enough people to defeat the Boss.

During the Shadow Lugia Weekend event on August 10 and 11, 2024, Reddit user ‘average_airsofter2′ was unable to find anyone to participate with. Additionally, the OP was unable to invite their in-game friends due to the requirement that these Raids be battled locally.

By implementing the use of Remote Raid Passes, the problem could easily be resolved. This would enable players to find more allies to defeat the challenging Shadow Boss, rather than rushing to the battle locations and finding no one available.

One more issue is the unpredictable timing of Shadow Raids, where the Boss appears suddenly for only 25 minutes. This is a significant difference compared to regular Raids, where the Boss remains for 45 minutes. The situation has become so problematic that players have deemed these battles “impossible to complete.”

According to a trainer, the ability to join a gym on the map should be granted. This would allow players to locate and schedule Raids, making it easier to strategize and improve their chances of victory. It remains to be seen if Niantic developers will implement these updates for Shadow Legendary Raids.

In case you’re having difficulty defeating Shadow Bosses in Pokemon Go, you can still participate in the remaining Raids during August. These Raids offer exciting opportunities to catch Mega Kangaskhan and Thundurus Incarnate.
