Review of New Horror Movie with Slasher’s POV Featuring Insane Kill Scene Similar to Terrifier 2

A recently released horror film, which is told from the perspective of the slasher, has been generating buzz for its distinctively brutal style. One particular scene has been praised for being just as insane as the one in Terrifier 2.

Despite the numerous horror movies to anticipate in 2024, Chris Nash’s In a Violent Nature has received widespread acclaim for its combination of a distinctive concept, arthouse-style suspense, and inventive deaths.

The scene in question has sparked discussions and been likened to Damien Leone’s Terrifier 2. However, please note that we are about to delve into spoiler territory.

Dubbed the “pretzel kill,”it depicts Johnny sneaking up on Aurora, an unsuspecting victim wandering through the woods. She lets out a piercing scream and takes off, only to stumble upon the edge of a steep cliff.

“As she contemplates her next move, Johnny quickly catches up to her and uses his hook and chain to punch through her stomach. Without hesitation, he flings the hook into her head and gives a strong pull on the chain.”

As he continues, her head is twisted through her body, resulting in a position reminiscent of a human pretzel.

Just like with Terrifier 2, there were also reports of an audience member vomiting during an early screening due to this scene.

The bedroom scene was a major topic of discussion in regards to Leone’s Art the Clown sequel.

One of the most brutal murders in film history, Art inflicts unimaginable pain on Sienna’s friend Allie by scalping her, tearing off one of her arms and dividing the other in half, and pouring bleach and salt all over her. View with caution.

Some fans believe that both horror movie scenes were equally effective in generating the grisliest gore possible, as they utilized practical effects and sound design.

Discussing the infamous pretzel kill from In a Violent Nature, a social media user shared on X/Twitter, “This scene is one of the most impressive in any slasher film I’ve ever watched. It alone makes the movie worth watching.”

Another person responded, stating, “The bedroom scene in Terrifier 2 was just as crazy.”A third person chimed in with, “I can’t decide which was more disturbing, the bedroom scene in Terrifier 2 or this one.”

“The fourth person commented that the blonde girl’s death in In a Violent Nature almost surpasses the bedroom kill in Terrifier 2. They described it as gut-wrenching.”

However, there are those who do not share this sentiment, such as this individual who stated, “Not even close. While watching this scene, I commented to my friend that ‘they’re obviously trying to match Art’s level with this one.’ It’s a cool kill, but it’s more comparable to the Saw kill in the first movie.”

Another person added, “I must be immune to shocking scenes because the yoga scene in In a Violent Nature wasn’t as extreme as everyone is saying… it’s nothing compared to the bedroom scene in Terrifier 2, I apologize.”

Looking at it from an individual standpoint, the yoga scene is not nearly as brutal as the bedroom sequence, but Terrifier 2 surpasses In a Violent Nature in terms of viciousness. Nevertheless, their approaches are entirely distinct and if you are a fan of horror, Nash’s first film is definitely worth checking out.

Additionally, there are fans who believe that Nash is following in the footsteps of Leone and getting ready to take things to an even more extreme level in a potential sequel.

“On Reddit, one user expressed their belief that the sequel will receive an improved script and a larger budget, comparing it to the success of Terrifier 2. Another user agreed, stating that the first Terrifier was on par with the sequel in terms of its low budget and need for further script revisions.”

Despite there being no official confirmation for a sequel to In a Violent Nature, Nash is eager to work on it if given the opportunity.

My various approaches are well-suited to the mythology we have established in this film.

“I have only just started exploring it, so I haven’t delved too deeply yet. However, I strongly sense that there is potential in it.”
