Revisiting the World of Pokemon: Shocking Ultra Beast Design Disappoints Former Fan

A player who has recently returned to playing Pokemon Go after a decade has requested an explanation for the design of an Ultra Beast that they believe to be “ugly.”

The allure of playing any Pokemon game, particularly Pokemon Go, lies in the motivation to catch all of the creatures and uncover new ones. Each new installment of the main Pokemon game series introduces a fresh Generation for players to explore.

Despite being longtime fans, some have criticized the new Pokemon designs for straying too far from the traditional look and being too exaggerated.

I stopped playing Pokémon back in 2012(unova region black n white 2 era) and got back into Pokémon in march because of Pokémon go. I love a lot of the new Pokémon but holy 💩 this thing is hideous byu/Lucky-Puzzle1478 inpokemongo

In a recent discussion on Reddit, user ‘Lucky-puzzle147′ requested an explanation from fellow community members after encountering a Pokemon they deemed “hideous” . The user had not played Pokemon since 2012 during the Unova region.

The original poster stated that they had not played a Pokemon game since 2012, when the most recent game in the franchise was Black and White 2.

A decade has passed and Pokemon Go now features numerous new Pokemon that were added during the player’s absence from the franchise.

The original poster referred to one of the Ultra Beasts as something that could be created in Minecraft.

The Ultra Beast in question is Stakataka, a Rock/Steel dual-type creature that was initially featured in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, during Generation VII.

Other players of Pokemon Go were quick to respond to the Reddit thread with their opinions. One individual pointed out that Stakataka resembles something from The Legend of Zelda series rather than a traditional Pokemon. They made a comparison to the “Guardians”in Breath of the Wild and the constructs found in Tears of the Kingdom.

One individual who is a fan of Pokemon Go even went to the extent of describing the Ultra as “cement bricks and security cameras stuck together.”
