Adult Swim has confirmed that an anime adaptation of Rick and Morty is in the works. The English dubbed version is scheduled to premiere on August 15, 2024, while the Japanese version will be released on August 17, 2024. Additionally, a new trailer for the project will be released this Thursday. The upcoming anime, titled Rick and Morty: The Anime, has already announced its English and Japanese voice actors.
The Rick and Morty anime has caused quite a stir, but it’s not the only exciting news for this American property. It was recently announced that the Rickmobile and Mortymobile will embark on a “multi-city ANIME-rican tour”starting at Comic-Con International in San Diego. This tour will also feature screenings of the show’s first episode.
The project is said to deliver original stories while still adhering to the formula of the original series, according to reports.

The Rick and Morty Anime Confirmed with Trailer, Release Date, Voice Cast, and More
As previously stated, the release date for the English dubbed version of the Rick and Morty anime has been confirmed for August 15, 2024, while the Japanese version is scheduled for release on August 17, 2024. This information was disclosed by the Adult Swim streaming platform, along with a trailer and the announcement of a promotional tour that will include screenings of the first episode.
The voice cast for both the English and Japanese dubs has been officially announced, with Youhei Tadano and Joe Daniels voicing Rick, Keisuke Chiba and Gabriel Regojo as Morty, Akiha Matsui and Donna Bella Litton as Summer, Manabu Muraji and Joe Daniels as Jerry, and Takako Fuji and Patricia Duran as Beth.
The upcoming Rick and Morty anime, directed by Takashi Sano who previously worked on Tower of God, will consist of 10 episodes and will be produced by the renowned studio Telecom Animation Film, known for their work on the Lupin III movie.
The premise of the series
The main focus of the story centers around the Smith family, who embark on various escapades throughout multiple dimensions. Rick, the eccentric grandfather and mad scientist, is accompanied by his grandson Morty, who often serves as his trusty sidekick. Due to their contrasting personalities, their adventures often result in comical situations.
The upcoming Rick and Morty anime will not be adapting any previous storylines, as previously reported. However, the production will stay true to the spirit and style of the original animated series.
