Despite being spotted attending a cram school, many netizens believe that Seunghan may never resume his activities with RIIZE.

Despite his debut, Seunghan has been surrounded by controversy. Online users had discovered images of Seunghan and his former girlfriend engaging in intimate acts in a motel bed. This action contradicted his idol persona and resulted in criticism, with speculation even arising that the girl was under the legal age at the time.

Despite the controversy surrounding photos of Seunghan smoking and attending clubs before his debut, he was still able to promote with RIIZE for their first comeback, “Talk Saxy.”However, he has not been participating in group activities since then due to the backlash he received as a member of RIIZE.

Since November 2024, Seunghan has been on an indefinite hiatus. According to SM Entertainment, they plan to file a complaint with the police and pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading false information with the intent to create misunderstandings.

Ever since, Seunghan has been keeping a low profile. He has been spotted by netizens in South Korea, going about his day like any ordinary person. Speculations arose that the RIIZE member was considering going to university, causing some to question his position as an idol.

On May 24, 2024, a post titled “Seemingly, RIIZE’s Seunghan is currently attending a cram school to retake the entrance exam”was shared on Nate Pann, one of South Korea’s most popular online community forums. The post included a photo of Seunghan outside.

Upon observing him, the poster noticed that he was dressed in a plain white shirt and pants, and had a bulky backpack slung over his shoulders. The thought crossed their mind if he had any books in his bag, considering he had just come from a cram school and his backpack appeared to be quite heavy.

After seeing the post, Korean netizens expressed their thoughts and questioned how Seunghan must have felt about having to attend cram school in order to enroll in university. They believe that if he had not been involved in the controversy, he could have achieved financial success as an idol.

Despite this, some individuals did not exhibit any compassion towards Seunghan. They argued that if a female idol had faced a similar scandal, they would not receive the same leniency. It was difficult for many to comprehend why Seunghan’s supporters continued to stand by him despite the controversy.

  • “Are people seriously supporting him and wishing him to live well? He took a picture kissing a girl in a motel by himself and it got leaked, and now people are cheering someone like him. Meanwhile, female idols get bashed even when they haven’t done anything bad.”
  • “Pann girls bash female idols to death over things like kalguksu and strawberries, even forcing them to write apology letters, but they will support a male idol who takes pictures of himself kissing girls in motels, saying they feel sorry for them and hope they live well.”

  • “Wow, seriously. If it weren’t for his scandals, Seunghan could have been rolling in money. I can feel his frustration. Still, I hope Seunghan lives well.”
