Fortnite enthusiasts have long been vocal about their desire for the return of the highly coveted Arcane skins. Recently, the co-founder of Riot Games offered a glimmer of hope, reigniting excitement among fans.
The Arcane skins first made their debut in Fortnite in 2021, coinciding with the release of Netflix’s acclaimed animated series, Arcane, which is set in the League of Legends universe. Their limited availability during the show’s launch transformed these skins into rare collectibles, celebrated for their striking animations and distinct designs.
As anticipation builds for the release of Arcane Season 2 in 2024, fans began to hope that these exclusive skins would reappear. However, the continued silence from Fortnite regarding this possibility had many feeling disheartened, until Riot Games provided a renewed sense of optimism.
Riot Co-Founder Open to Jinx and Vi Skin Comeback in Fortnite
Renowned Fortnite leaker Shiina recently took to X, sharing a statement from Riot’s co-founder that fueled the conversation: “I’ll talk to the team about Arcane skins in Fortnite. Not sure what we can do, but I’ll look into it,” he stated, expressing an openness to exploring possibilities for the skins’ return.
NEW HOPE FOR ARCANE IN FORTNITE 🔥After my tweet went somewhat viral, the Riot Games Co-Founder has commented on the situation once again:”I will talk to the team about Arcane skins in Fortnite, not sure what we can do if anything, but I will look into it.”(via @Bamplbee2) pic.twitter.com/H6Xjnn4WWb

This statement marks a significant shift from Riot’s previous position, which firmly closed the door on the potential reappearance of Arcane skins. In earlier remarks, a co-founder had indicated that the skins were intended as a unique tribute to the original launch of Arcane, stating, “It’s on us that they don’t return. We only did it for the original launch of Arcane.” These comments suggested that the skins were not created as a continual cash grab, but rather as exclusive items tied to a specific event.
Riot’s commitment to its creative vision is evident in the philosophy voiced by co-founder Marc Merrill: “People think we make things like Arcane to sell skins. In reality, we sell skins to make things like Arcane.” This approach emphasizes creativity and player engagement over revenue, a refreshing perspective in today’s gaming landscape.
Despite this philosophy, the trend in gaming often sees rare skins returning to the spotlight. Iconic examples like Master Chief, Renegade Raider, and Aerial Assault Trooper have all experienced re-releases in Fortnite, making it plausible that the Arcane skins could also make a comeback at some point.
As of now, Fortnite fans are holding on to Riot’s promise to investigate the possibility of the skins’ return. Should any official announcement surface regarding the reintroduction of these beloved skins, players are ready to invest their V-Bucks in a heartbeat.
