Riot Games to Increase Regional Prices Up to 70% for Purchases in LoL, Valorant, & More

The costs of digital currencies in specific regions for Riot Games’ games, including League of Legends and Valorant, will be raised.

In a recent news release on Riot Games’ website, the developer announced that effective September 18, prices for its in-game currency would be modified for all of its games.

Depending on the specific region you are in, the cost of in-game purchases such as Valorant Points or Riot Points from LoL may vary, resulting in either a higher or lower price.

The adjustments in pricing are a result of the constantly evolving global economy, as Riot clarified, stating, “We occasionally need to adapt our pricing to reflect fluctuations in exchange rates and local economies.”

It is worth mentioning that Riot Games is providing extra currency for in-client purchases in regions where prices are set to increase, before the changes take effect.

Below are the price variations for each game based on your location.

Despite potential disappointment from fans in more expensive areas, this is not the first instance of Riot Games facing criticism. Most recently, they made alterations to a controversial emote used by a professional team in League of Legends.
