Mnet has finally revealed the lineup for the highly anticipated program.
According to reports from Korean news outlets on July 10, it was revealed by Mnet that the final lineup for the second season of “Road to Kingdom”would consist of several K-pop boy groups.
According to insiders, popular K-pop groups including THE NEW SIX, The CrewOne (consisting of ATBO and JUST B), 8TURN, ONEUS, YOUNITE, CRAVITY, and TEMPEST are set to appear on the show.
On June 27, ATBO and JUST B united to create The CrewOne, a project group formed through a partnership between IST Entertainment and Blue Dot Entertainment. In 2020, ONEUS garnered recognition for their participation in the initial season of “Road to Kingdom.”
The upcoming debut of THE NEW SIX is generating a lot of excitement, as they are the first-ever boy group to be created under the management of PSY’s agency, P NATION. Additionally, fans can look forward to seeing YOUNITE and TEMPEST demonstrate their skills and shine even brighter.
CRAVITY has been garnering a lot of attention, as they have made a name for themselves in the K-pop industry by showcasing their distinct and youthful image. In their early days, they were often referred to as the “younger brother group”of MONSTA X.
In addition, the lineup will feature 8TURN, who has gained attention for their versatility as an act.
On June 26, it was announced that the second season of “Road to Kingdom”will debut in the latter half of 2024. The original season of the show premiered in 2020, featuring a lineup of seven K-pop groups: PENTAGON, ONF, Golden Child, THE BOYZ, VERIVERY, ONEUS, and TO1.
Despite its initial purpose as a prequel show to “Kingdom,””Road to Kingdom”underwent a reorganization and rebranding. According to sources, the decision was made to make “Road to Kingdom”a standalone brand instead.
The show “Road to Kingdom”will undergo some structural changes and will now be broadcast under a different title. Furthermore, it will incorporate more reality elements into its format. Joo Woo Ri, who has previously directed “Queendom,”will also be directing this program.
It has been reported that SHINee’s Taemin has been chosen as the host for the second season of “Road to Kingdom”. The decision has been met with widespread praise, as Taemin is highly regarded as a role model and icon in the K-pop industry.
Since his debut in 2008 with SHINee, Taemin has captivated audiences around the world with his dynamic performances and commanding stage presence. As the main dancer of the group, Taemin has been hailed as a formidable talent and one of the top performers in the K-pop industry.
