Similar to the first part, Doors Floor 2: The Mines consists of 200 Doors to open and is populated with various entities in each corridor. If you’re struggling with certain sections, this complete walkthrough of the entire Mines level will guide you from the starting area to the final Door.
The Mines Complete Walkthrough – Doors Floor 2
Before you begin, it’s important to note that Doors Floor 2 is not a linear experience and features numerous RNG elements. This means the layout or monsters encountered may differ between runs. Use this guide to navigate complex puzzles rather than as a strict route to follow.
Spawn Area to Door 110 – The Mines
Traveling from the Spawn Area to Door 110 is relatively straightforward since you won’t face formidable monsters or complicated puzzles. However, you may encounter some minor challenges along the way.
Generator Fuse
The most common puzzle in this section involves locating fuses for your generator to exit a room. Search all the lockers, table drawers, and other loot boxes to find the fuses needed to activate the generators. The number of fuses required may vary, affecting your search time. Once you obtain the fuse, place it onto the generator to proceed to the next room.
Mine Cart Track Switch
Another common puzzle involves switching the mine cart track. Simply engage the lever to change the track and move your cart forward to proceed.
Encountered Enemies
- Gloombats: These flying bat-like entities have bright yellow eyes. When encountering them, turn off all lights and vacate the area.
- Screech: This black entity screeches and will disappear if you look directly at it.
Door 110 to Door 120 – The Mines
The segment between Doors 111 and 121 is the easiest in the game, having no puzzles to solve. Just continue moving forward, opening Doors as you go. However, it’s crucial to have a light source like a Bulklight or Glowstick at all times to navigate through the dark rooms. Ensuring you gather light sources by exploring various containers and lockers will be beneficial.
Encountered Enemies
- Giggle: Dispel it by throwing a glowstick, or avoid walking underneath it, easily recognized by its laughter and position on the cave’s ceiling.
Door 120 to Door 130 – The Mines
This corridor follows a similar pattern, lacking new puzzles but potentially requiring another Generator Fuse puzzle. Activate your light source and search for bulbs needed to power the generators. Additionally, watch for rooms saturated with flammable gas; avoid using any ignitable items in these areas, identifiable by flammable stickers at the entrances.
Encountered Enemies
- Hide: It seeks to creep behind you intermittently. When tremors and unsettling music occur, hide in a locker and play a heartbeat mini-game; success will cause the monster to dissipate.
- Figure: It tracks you through sound, so either hide inside a locker or remain still in dark areas to avoid capture.
Door 130 to Door 140 – The Mines
Between Doors 130 and 140, expect to revisit several game elements from earlier sections, including fixing generator fuses and tactically using mine carts by switching levers. Additionally, you will encounter earlier monsters along with a new foe.
Encountered Enemies
- Gloombat Eggs: Unhatched Gloombat eggs typically found in dark rooms. Avoid them by walking around their edges and using a light source such as a Glowstick to navigate safely.
Door 140 to Door 150 – The Mines
Upon entering Door 140, a cutscene will trigger with the infamous Seek Monster pursuing you in its human form. From there, the experience relies on luck as you run to evade Seek, choosing the correct path as you progress. There are no predefined routes; the layout changes each time. Follow the blue guiding aura light on your screen to navigate efficiently, duck when necessary to avoid obstacles while on a cart, and you should reach Door 150 within a couple of minutes.
Door 150 to Door 160 – The Mines
Once you enter Door 150, the Seek Monster will vanish, replaced by a new creature known as the Grumble Monster, resembling a giant version of the Giggle. Your task now is to escape the Grumble Monster while powering the bridge leading to Door 151.
Powering the Bridge Puzzle
To reach the next area, power the bridge by inputting codes into four Anchor Machines: A, B, C, and D. The locations of these machines are randomized for each run. However, some common spawn spots for each Anchor Machine in Door 150 are outlined below.
- A Anchor Locations
- B Anchor Locations
- C Anchor Locations
- D Anchor Locations
Use the images as guides and listen for audio cues from the machines to quickly locate each terminal. Once you’ve input all the codes, the bridge will power on, allowing entry into Door 151.
From Door 151 to Door 160, the usual routine continues. Inside Door 152, there is a Shop where you can stock up on items. Some areas require climbing down to reach the next Door, so ensure you explore thoroughly before hitting a dead end.
Encountered Enemies
- Grumble: A gigantic version of the Giggle Monster. To avoid this entity, use light sources like Bulklights or Glowsticks at intersections to distract it while you explore the areas in Door 150. Repeat this strategy until you’ve input all the required codes.
Door 160 to Door 170 – The Mines
This section will largely repeat the previous areas, with familiar enemies like Hide, Giggle, and Screech, while you continue solving Generator puzzles. Most rooms are exceptionally dark, so if you stocked up in the Shop at Door 162, you should advance without issues.
Door 170 to Door 180 – The Mines
In this segment, you’ll encounter sections requiring you to swim underwater. Carefully time your breath and follow the light to find the next Door. Prepare to climb stairs as you explore for the next entryway. The gameplay remains consistent, with mine carts, generators, and hiding as key elements.
Door 180 to Door 190 – The Mines
This corridor section lacks new puzzles but features many returning enemies. It’s advisable to gather Bandages or Bandage Packs before entering, as several Giggles and other creatures are positioned to cause damage. Stock up on supplies to aid your survival in the following sections.
Door 190 to Door 200 – The Mines
This marks the final stretch of the Mines level. Until Door 195, the gameplay remains consistent, but once you pass through Door 195, Seek will chase you once again. Follow the glowing blue light and choose the correct route during the chase to reach Door 200, where you will confront the final Seek boss in its Blob form.
Defeating the Seek (Blob Form)
While Seek appears terrifying, you can evade its attacks by recognizing two patterns: random hand attacks and laser attacks. To avoid laser strikes, move away from the laser pointer, and for random attacks, stay near the middle of the sewer area. Use these techniques to jump on floating obstacles and navigate safely to the other side.
In addition to dodging, you must drain the Seek monster through the sewer system by turning on valves in Door 200 in a phased process: two valves in Phase 1, four in Phase 2, and five in the final phase. These valves are ascertainable by tracking the guiding light, which assists you in interacting with them. After activating all valves, the Seek monster will be eliminated, ending the encounter.
Once Seek has been defeated, locate the final generator’s bulb and ascend the last staircase to reach the forest area. Proceed through the forest until you find the Door to the castle. Interact with this Door to initiate the final cutscene, revealing the Grumble being consumed by the Seek monster, concluding the game.
