Rockstar Games is igniting excitement among fans as developers look to sell exclusive GTA 6 merchandise, with eager fans willing to pay hefty sums.
The anticipation surrounding the release of GTA 6 has become palpable, especially after the first trailer dropped a year ago, providing little in terms of new information since then. This prolonged silence has left many fans eagerly dissecting every scrap of content, including teasing clues from Rockstar’s social media feeds.
Recently, developers shared images of their holiday gifts from Rockstar, leading to speculation that these might hint at the unveiling of a second trailer on December 27. Despite the excitement, this theory ultimately led to no new revelations. However, one developer decided to capitalize on the hype by putting their exclusive merchandise up for sale, and the response has been overwhelming, with bids soaring for a shirt themed around the game’s sixth installment.

GTA 6 Sweatshirt Auction Surpasses $1,000
In a surprising turn, an eBay listing by the user ‘tears_in_the_rain‘ features items gifted by Rockstar as part of their Christmas package, including a creative combination of merchandise like an umbrella and tote bag.
While the bids for these items stand at $51 and $38 respectively, the spotlight is firmly on the GTA 6 sweatshirt, which has seen staggering bids. Currently, the top bid sits at £1,020, roughly translating to just under $1,300 USD. The auction is scheduled to conclude on January 7.
Notably, the listing mentions that the item is shipped from Edinburgh, pointing to the seller’s connection to Rockstar’s Edinburgh office. They clarified, “This is not company property but a gift from the studio. Only selling as I already have a sweater and I don’t need two.”
The seller also described the merch as showcasing the “new iconic colors” while still indicating its relation to the Grand Theft Auto series. The high bids being offered reveal the intense demand for any crumb of news regarding GTA 6.
Moreover, in late December, fans discovered a higher-quality version of the first official trailer circulating on a Chinese website. This led to further collaborative analysis as players scrutinized details they had initially overlooked.
Currently, GTA VI is set to release sometime in the Fall of 2025, although insiders remain skeptical and speculate that a delay into 2026 might not be out of the question.
