Ronda Rousey says WWE must “clean out” Vince McMahon’s “cronies”

In order for WWE to break away from its dysfunctional past, owner Ari Emanuel must remove Vince McMahon’s cronies through a thorough cleaning process.

According to former WWE star Ronda Rousey, McMahon’s impact is still strongly present within the company despite his resignation from the board of directors earlier this year. She believes that his influence continues to play a significant role.

Rousey, who had a successful MMA career, became an official member of the WWE in 2018. During her five-year tenure with the company, she achieved victories as the Smackdown and Raw women’s champion, as well as winning the 2022 women’s Royal Rumble.

In 2023, Rousey announced her retirement from wrestling and has since been outspoken about her thoughts on McMahon and the culture that existed within the WWE.

Despite the sexual misconduct allegations against him by a former employee, McMahon resigned from his position with the organization and its parent company in January. He maintains his innocence and denies the allegations.

Despite Rousey’s claims that McMahon still has an informal role in running the WWE, she has also stated that he is responsible for creating a “fundamentally sick environment”within the company.

She has encouraged Emanuel, the CEO of Endeavor which owns both the WWE and UFC, to “purge”the company.

“When asked if she felt expendable to the WWE, Rousey shared on the Diary of a CEO podcast, ‘Yeah, I think we all did and they definitely made sure we felt that way.’”

“His associates are still present. Even when the controversy emerged and Vince was supposedly absent, he was actually still managing the company remotely.”

Despite receiving a different title, Bruce Prichard remains the head of creative at the company and continues to take orders from Vince as he runs the company through him.

Despite being formally resigned due to numerous sexual allegations, Vince continues to run the company informally and it appears that he is still doing so to this day.

I have a great admiration for the girls in the locker room. While I believe that Steph (McMahon) and Triple H are doing their best, the root of the problem lies in the toxic environment created by Vince McMahon.

In order for Ari Emanuel to successfully transform this dysfunctional multi-billion dollar company into a functional one, it is imperative that he removes all of Vince’s cronies and completely cleans house, eliminating any trace of Vince’s influence.

“Although nobody is specifically inquiring about my experience, I can attest that after Vince’s departure, his influence was still felt through the individuals he had previously hired who were still managing the show.”
