Streamer Tigz Achieves a Historic First by Escaping from Tarkov

In an unprecedented feat, streamer Tigz has made history as the first player globally to accomplish the remarkable act of escaping from Tarkov. This exhilarating milestone highlights the evolution of the game since its initial early access launch in 2016, which has since transformed the extraction shooter genre.

Escape from Tarkov’s Milestone Update

After eight years of continual development, Escape from Tarkov officially reached its long-awaited 1.0 release on November 15, 2025. This update not only revitalized the gaming landscape but also introduced a definitive conclusion to the game—something players have long anticipated. Rather than merely entering, collecting loot, and fleeing, players now have new ultimate goals to pursue.

Tigz’s momentous escape took place on December 2, shortly after the introduction of a new map called Terminal. This map, which is touted as the final level in the game, opens the gateway for players to truly “escape”from Tarkov and conclude their narrative journey.

During what felt like a cinematic experience, Tigz managed to navigate through the challenges, ultimately being the first player to reach one of these recently introduced endings. However, the journey did not end in prosperity, as the post-escape landscape revealed a grim fate.

The Trials of Escape

Tarkov offers players not just one but four distinct endings to discover. For Tigz, his escape came with severe consequences; although he left the irradiated wasteland, the world he exited was left in a devastated state following a nuclear explosion, with hostile factions rising from the ashes. In Tigz’s words, he “ran for the sake of survival, chose the path of a runaway, ”as the game narratively reflects this harrowing experience.

Tarkov’s director, Nikita Buyanov, has mentioned that this ending represents the “second worst”scenario among the four possible conclusions, implying that a more favorable ending awaits exploration. He even hinted at an intriguing reward for the player who eventually discovers the “Best Ending, ”stating on X (formerly Twitter), “The first who will complete the game with the Best Ending will definitely have something special from me.”

As the quest continues, players are delving into the mysteries of the Terminal map, hoping to uncover the secrets leading to the elusive “Best”ending. However, irrespective of who may achieve this feat in the future, Tigz will forever hold the esteemed title of the first individual in the world to genuinely escape from Tarkov.
