Spotify is once again adjusting its subscription prices for certain users, and industry experts anticipate that this trend will continue. Over the past few years, the cost of a premium subscription has experienced multiple increases, with the latest hike set to affect users in the United Kingdom as we approach the end of 2025.
On October 24, Sky News’ Money Blog reported that many subscribers received notifications via email regarding a forthcoming price adjustment of £1. The email specifies, “Starting on your billing date in November, your subscription price will change from £11.99/month to £12.99/month.” This latest increase appears to target solo subscribers, while the duo plan prices remain unchanged for the moment.

UK Spotify users are being informed about the latest price increase.
Future Price Predictions for Spotify in the USA
The increase in the UK subscription price aligns with similar adjustments in other markets. Currently, users in the United States have not yet seen a price change, but forecasts indicate that this will soon change.
Analysts from J. P.Morgan, in a report dated October 14, projected that a price increase in the U. S.could occur “by year-end or early 2026.” This expectation echoes comments made by Guggenheim in August, although no specific price points have been proposed.
The last price modifications in the U. S.took place in 2023 and 2024, marking the first such changes since 2011. The family plan pricing was also adjusted during that time.
Additionally, Spotify has been modifying features for its non-premium users, enabling them to search for specific songs and play them on demand, enhancing user interactivity.
Nevertheless, Spotify has faced criticism recently due to a rise in AI-generated content. This includes the release of new music purportedly from deceased artists, which has raised concerns among some users about the platform’s direction.
