In Rune Slayer, players can enhance their gameplay experience by equipping various Skill Books. These books not only augment existing abilities but also provide access to powerful new skills. Players can acquire these invaluable items through quest completions and by defeating specific enemy non-playable characters (NPCs).One notable Skill Book is the Dual Weapons Skill Book, which grants the ability to dual-wield swords. To obtain this coveted book, players must defeat the formidable Vangar boss.
How to Acquire the Dual Weapons Skill Book in Rune Slayer – Finding Vangar
To find Vangar and unlock the Dual Weapons Skill Book, players should journey to the Knight’s Templar located in Lakeshire. It is advisable to attempt this challenging boss battle once your character reaches a certain skill level and has acquired powerful abilities. Note that Vangar does not spawn consistently, so persistence may be required.
Navigating to Lakeshire
Begin your journey by traveling northwest from Wayshire, the starting town for your character. Continue your trek through the wilderness until you reach a river. Avoid any crocodiles in the area, swim across, and climb up onto the bank marked in the accompanying image. This will lead you to the entrance of Lakeshire (refer to the third image for guidance).
Getting to Knight’s Templar
Once in Lakeshire, take the path to your left (illustrated in the first image) heading southwest until you find a cave entrance labeled Knight’s Templar. Engage with Roland, the lift operator, and request a lift. After concluding the conversation, quickly board the wooden platform for transport. After exiting the lift, climb the stairs positioned behind you (shown in the third image).
Upon reaching the top exit, you have two options: Follow the yellow arrow in the image to reach the Knight’s Templar or take the green markers directly to Vangar’s spawn point.
If you belong to the Holy Knight class of the Holy Faction, it’s advisable to take the smaller path to your right, which leads to a chamber filled with several NPCs. Speak with Gunnar at the lobby’s end to set your spawn in this location. This ensures that, should you fall in battle against Vangar, you’ll respawn at Knight’s Templar instead of a faraway location like Wayshire.
Finding the Vangar Boss NPC
With your spawn set, head back to the lift exit at Bahlgar.Stay close to the rocks on your left and climb up to ascend a few levels. Continue west while keeping near the rocks to avoid falling. When you reach a dead end, carefully drop down onto the rocks to your right, reaching the point shown in the second image above.
In front of you lies a small green field where Vangar spawns. While the NPC may not appear immediately, he should eventually materialize if you wait, or you might want to switch servers to find him more reliably. Vangar is characterized by his white hair and dual swords. Defeating him offers a slim chance of dropping the Skill Book: Dual Weapons, meaning you may need to engage in several battles before acquiring this skill.
Be prepared for a fast-paced fight; Vangar utilizes powerful attacks and boasts a substantial health bar. It could be beneficial to strategize and perhaps enlist the help of another player to streamline the process. Once you secure the Skill Book: Dual Weapons, add it to your Ability Slot and equip a secondary weapon in the Off-Hand Slot to engage in dual-wielding in Rune Slayer.
