About Rurouni Kenshin

The Japanese manga series, written and illustrated by Nobuhiro Watsuki, was published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1994 to 1999. It was later adapted into a TV anime that aired from 1996 to 1998, and also spawned an anime film and several video projects.

The English manga version was distributed by Viz Media, while the English anime version was made available by Media Blasters.

The plot centers on a past assassin who, after rebelling against the feudal government, adopted the name Himura Kenshin and transformed into a traveling swordsman devoted to safeguarding the citizens of Japan. He pledged to never again end a life.
