On October 15, Russell Brand became a trending topic across social media platforms after he appeared in a promotional video for a “mystical amulet” purported to shield users from “malevolent energies” emitted by wireless devices.

In the brief advertisement, Brand is shown strolling through a verdant garden while carrying a suitcase and wearing the amulet, confidently asserting that it safeguards him from “all the various signals out there.”

“Airports are notoriously crowded with WiFi and various malicious energies; consider all the phones in use, all those signals—corrupting and corruptible,” he elaborates.

As he lifts and drops the suitcase, Brand claims that the amulet enhances his strength, suggesting it has made him “more powerful.”

The clip has garnered extensive ridicule, with one notable post highlighting that Brand is using a wireless microphone while he warns against wireless technology.

While some viewers pondered whether the video is a satire, it is worth noting that Brand is identified as an official partner of the company and has previously produced promotional content for them.

Brand boasts over 6.8 million followers on YouTube.

The firm behind the so-called magical amulet, priced at $239.99, purports that exposure to electromagnetic fields “could lead to adverse health outcomes.”

They assert that the product’s purpose is to “mitigate the potentially harmful effects of artificial EMFs, fostering an environment that supports the body’s innate electromagnetic functions without disrupting the communication capabilities of wireless devices.”

Conversely, the World Health Organization indicates that “existing evidence does not substantiate any health repercussions from exposure to low-level electromagnetic fields.”

Moreover, the WHO remarks, “Individuals using mobile phones experience field levels significantly higher than those in typical living conditions. However, even at these elevated levels, there seems to be no harmful effects.”

Initially shared on the company’s TikTok profile, the promotional video is currently unavailable on their account.

In 2023, Brand faced allegations of rape, sexual assault, and emotional abuse involving four women from 2006 to 2013.
