Ryan Murphy Specifically Tailored Travis Kelce’s Grotesquerie Role for Him

<p>Director Ryan Murphy has disclosed that he crafted Travis Kelce’s debut acting role in the highly anticipated series Grotesquerie.

Horror filmmaker Ryan Murphy has faced a mixture of reactions regarding his recent projects, particularly with the second season of his Netflix series Monsters, which has garnered significant backlash from the Menendez family.

Despite the criticisms, Murphy took a moment to promote his upcoming horror series Grotesquerie and to praise the acting abilities of NFL star Travis Kelce.

Murphy expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I just instantly loved him and took him by the hand and let him know that he could not fail, and he really was amazing. He worked with an acting coach for several months. He showed up off-book and knew everybody’s lines. He was so professional, and he was so committed.”

He further commented that the football superstar “kept saying, ‘I’m really coachable. Coach me, coach me.’ So I did, and he ended up being a delight. I would love to continue collaborating with him on this and future projects. I cannot speak highly enough about him as a leader.”

Details regarding the character Kelce is set to portray in Grotesquerie remain largely undisclosed, although the series is set to release its first two episodes on September 25.

The brief plot summary of Grotesquerie reveals: “Detective Lois Tryon (Niecy Nash) must collaborate with Sister Megan (Micaela Diamond), a local nun, to uncover the origin of a series of gruesome crimes impacting both their community and their personal lives.”

Grotesquerie is set to premiere on September 25 via FX. In the meantime, explore all the new movies launching in September and the latest TV shows streaming this month.
