Ryan Reynolds Admits to Leaking Original Deadpool Footage

In order to promote their collaboration in Deadpool and Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman took a lie detector test and Reynolds ended up admitting to a significant leak from his past.

Prior to the possibility of a Deadpool & Wolverine collaboration, there were attempts to produce the original Deadpool movie. Despite his initial appearance in X-Men: Origins, the Merc With a Mouth faced challenges in getting a satisfactory adaptation for the big screen, but a new movie was in development.

In 2014, a leaked online video of test footage from an R-rated superhero movie captured the attention and admiration of Marvel fans. This enthusiastic response led to the greenlighting of Deadpool and the birth of a new franchise.

The collaboration between Deadpool and Wolverine is currently expanding Deadpool’s profane influence into the MCU. However, this may not have occurred if the footage had not been leaked. For years, there were speculations that Reynolds was responsible for the leak. Recently, Hugh Jackman directly confronted him about it.

During a lie detector interview with Vanity Fair, the two Marvel actors questioned each other while connected to a polygraph machine.

Jackman inquired, “Did you leak the test footage for the original Deadpool on the internet?”

Reynolds responded, “That’s a great question. Actually, this is a fantastic question. Let’s move on.”

As Jackman reminded Reynolds about the presence of a lie detector, Reynolds retorted, “Let me remind you that this does not strictly adhere to the law. And if I desired to break out of this room and wreak havoc, I could and would. Now, could you repeat the question for me?”

The polygraph technician instructed him to answer when he once again attempted to evade the question.

“Reynolds exclaimed, “For God’s sake, I may have helped out. I was like Scottie Pippen!”He continued, “I was simply carrying out my duties, yet someone else receives all the recognition.”

Therefore, it appears that Reynolds played a role in making the footage publicly available. However, considering the franchise’s success – with the first two films ranking among the top-grossing R-rated movies ever – it seems that he deserves more appreciation than criticism.

Additionally, you may view the explanation of the ending and check for a potential post-credits scene.
