Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively achieve insane box office record after 34 years

It has been 34 years since a Hollywood power couple has dominated the box office together, but Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have broken that record. Their recent success has surpassed all expectations.

Although we may have a great love for new movies, their success is often dependent on their box office performance. While some movies, such as Longlegs, have pleasantly surprised us, others like Borderlands have unfortunately failed miserably.

Great news for fans of movie statistics, as Hollywood power couple Reynolds and Lively have made history by simultaneously dominating the global box office for the first time in 34 years.

In the past, this same occurrence took place in 1990, during the simultaneous release of Die Hard 2 and Ghost, both starring Bruce Willis and Demi Moore.

“In response to the news on X/Twitter, one fan commented, “That’s quite an accomplishment.”

Another person chimed in, stating, “It’s a historic moment brought about by a fantastic couple.”A third person added, “Despite their divorce, Bruce and Demi remain united as a family, making them a strong couple. Congratulations to all of them, and Ryan and Blake are truly amazing.”

Despite only being released for three weeks, Deadpool & Wolverine has already surpassed $1 billion in global box office sales and is maintaining its top spot. This makes it the first MCU movie to reach this milestone since the premiere of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

In the meantime, Lively’s film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel It Ends With Us was released on August 9 and grossed more than $50 million during its opening weekend. The production was co-financed for a total of $25 million.

Despite Deadpool & Wolverine receiving positive reviews from both critics and fans, It Ends With Us has received mixed reviews upon its release. However, attentive viewers may have noticed a Reynolds Easter egg in Lively’s interviews.

Upon reflection, we have come to the conclusion that the movie can best be described as “disappointingly average”- a common theme in 2024. While it does touch on deep-seated personal struggles, the film primarily serves as a showcase for Blake Lively’s undeniable coolness, leaving us longing to emulate her despite any obstacles we may face.
