Ryu: Boruto’s Most Powerful Shinju Thanks to Shinki’s Unique Abilities

The Boruto manga is expanding its roster of antagonists, notably with the introduction of the Shinju group. Currently, Jura stands out as the most formidable member; however, the dynamics may shift in the forthcoming chapter with the emergence of a new Shinju entity. A fan theory posted by @stuehieyr on Reddit posits that this new character could be the most powerful, particularly due to their ninjutsu capabilities and how they align with the powers of Shinju.

This theory is primarily focused on Ryu, the latest Shinju entity who appears to be a clone of Shinki, the son of Gaara. Ryu’s ninjutsu abilities seem to harmonize perfectly with what both Code and the Shinju group are capable of executing.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Fan Theory Explores Ryu as the Strongest Shinju Entity

Why Shi*** as Ry**? Analyzing His Unmatched Abilities by u/stuehieyr in Boruto

To grasp why Ryu may become the mightiest Shinju entity, we must examine his abilities and Kekkei Genkai, as well as his connection to Claw Marks. This analysis could clarify how he might outshine Jura as the series unfolds. Meanwhile, Shinki, Gaara’s adopted son, specializes in puppetry and long-range combat.

Shinki exhibits expertise in Wind Release and Earth Release, enabling him to utilize Magnet Release. Initially, his control over Magnet Release was minimal but improved significantly under Gaara’s guidance. This technique is crucial to the fan theory due to its relationship with Code’s Claw Marks. Code employed these Claw Marks to amass an army of Claw Grime, which consumed chakra alongside sealing shinobis, ultimately leading to their sentience and the birth of the Shinju, including Ryu.

The Claw Mark is a vital concept in the Boruto manga, allowing Code to combine chakra with iron found in blood to create portals. These portals offer him a tactical edge by enabling rapid teleportation across the battlefield, complicating matters for his adversaries. Given that iron is integral to the Claw Mark, it’s logical that Code would opt to seal Shinki to facilitate the emergence of a Shinju entity.

Thanks to his Magnet Release Kekkei Genkai, Ryu can manipulate iron, granting him the ability to form these strategic portals and maneuver effectively during battles. While users of Magnet Release typically excel in long-range attacks, the Claw Mark portals can significantly enhance Ryu’s mobility in upcoming chapters.

In theory, there’s an optimal synergy between Claw Marks and Magnet Release. In contrast to characters like Hidari, a clone of Sasuke whose Lightning and Fire Release may lack compatibility with Claw Mark techniques, Shinki employs Magnet Release, which can be augmented with Lightning Release for enhanced electromagnetic manipulation of iron.

From a storytelling perspective, Ryu’s potential to unlock Boruto’s Jogan strengthens the argument for him being the strongest Shinju. Boruto’s eye displayed lightning in Shinki’s presence, making it plausible that Ryu could trigger the awakening of the Jogan. Should this occur, Masashi Kishimoto would position Ryu as the preeminent Shinju, showcasing a significant aspect of Boruto’s upgraded powers.
