On May 23rd, the main star of Netflix’s original series “The 8 Show,”Ryu Jun-yeol, was spotted at a cafe in Sogyeok-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
Earlier, Ryu Jun-yeol confirmed his relationship with actress Han So-hee by disclosing the timeline of his breakup with ex-girlfriend Hyeri and the beginning of his relationship with Han So-hee. However, while Han So-hee openly addressed their romance on social media and her blog, Ryu Jun-yeol chose to stay quiet. This led to other controversies arising during that time.
At the press conference for “The 8 Show”, Ryu Jun-yeol addressed the various posts that had surfaced on social media regarding his private life. Despite not intending to do so, he chose to remain silent and endure the criticism rather than responding to each issue individually.
Reflecting on his past decision to remain quiet about controversies, Ryu Jun-yeol revealed, “At the time, I didn’t feel it was the appropriate time or place to fully share my story. I believe it would have been more effective to discuss it in an interview.”He continued, “Even now, I stand by this belief.”
The actor stressed the importance of accepting criticism without giving a personal opinion on its validity, especially through speculation and comments on the Internet.
He stated, “Instead of fueling more rumors and speculations by divulging unheard information, I believe it’s wiser to remain quiet in order to prevent the story from spreading further. I choose to keep my criticisms and personal concerns to myself” , also mentioning “I am unable to fully explain the situation to everyone, but I have tried my best. Initially, I thought sharing my emotions would bring some solace, however, I have come to the conclusion that it is not the appropriate course of action” .
Furthermore, when questioned about whether he had ever experienced a story that made him feel unjust, Ryu Jun-yeol responded, “I don’t believe there has been any such story.”He then went on to explain, “Even if there were, I never had the thought of addressing it later. I believed it was important to handle any criticism in the moment, and talking about it wouldn’t make me feel any better.”
