Sabrina Carpenter under fire after being accused of “cosplaying” service workers

Sabrina Carpenter faced criticism when she worked in a coffee shop, serving drinks to customers as part of her latest promotional campaign.

“Released in April, Sabrina Carpenter’s single “Espresso”achieved Platinum certification and remained on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for eight consecutive weeks. It was later hailed as the ‘song of the summer’.”

The celebrity has continued to publicize her achievements by teaming up with renowned ice cream company Van Leeuwen to introduce a unique espresso-flavored ice cream flavor.

Sabrina Carpenter has recently gained widespread attention after being spotted working at a London coffee shop called Blank Street.

“The coffee shop posted on its Instagram that Sabrina Carpenter, a barista, was working late and had served up some delicious espresso at their Charlotte St location. The post included several photos of Carpenter sitting on the counter enjoying an iced latte.”

The coffee house additionally shared a video featuring her working behind the counter, happily serving drinks to enthusiastic fans.

Despite the latest promotional effort sparking some controversy, there were those who did not agree with Carpenter’s tactics.

“One person commented on a Twitter/X post, expressing their opinion that it is endearing and genuine for a celebrity to dress up as a minimum wage worker for publicity, but then return to their life of immense privilege.”

“Agreeing with this sentiment, another individual stated that working a minimum wage job should not be seen as a trend. In addition, someone on Twitter also shared their opinion, declaring it as the worst gimmick a celebrity can partake in.”

Some people, on the other hand, were completely on board with the collaboration. They commented below the video saying, “I would have a hard time choosing between enjoying a coffee made by Sabrina now or saving it to have her make one for me forever haha.”

Sabrina Carpenter’s latest song caused a stir in June when a child sang an explicit lyric and the singer promptly apologized to the child’s mother, resulting in her going viral.
