Sakamoto Days anime unveils character PVs for Shin, Aoi, and others ahead of January 2025 premiere

On July 31, 2024, the Sakamoto Days anime released character promotional videos and announced the cast members for Asakura Shin, Lu Shaotang, Aoei and Hana Sakamoto, Mashimo Heisuke, and Piisuke. The highly anticipated anime is scheduled to air in January 2025.

Yuto Suzuki’s Japanese manga, Sakamoto Days, has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since November 2020. With 17 volumes already compiled and over 5 million copies in circulation, the series has gained widespread popularity. To further expand its reach, TMS Entertainment has announced an upcoming anime adaptation.

Sakamoto Days Reveals Six New Cast Members

On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, six new cast members for the Sakamoto Days anime were revealed on the show’s official website. The announcement was accompanied by promotional videos for each character, which were made available as YouTube Shorts on TMS Anime’s official YouTube Channel.

Nobunaga Shimazaki will lend his voice to Asakura Shin. He is known for his roles as Seishiro Nagi in Blue Lock, Yuno Grinberryall in Black Clover, and Yuki Souma in Fruits Basket.

Ayane Sakura will be voicing Lu Shaotang. She has previously lent her voice to characters such as Yotsuba Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets, Minami Fuyuki in Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!, and Ochako Uraraka in My Hero Academia. She is also slated to voice Aira Shiratori in Dandadan.

Along with them, Nao Touyama and Hina Kino will also join the cast as Aoi, Tarou Sakamoto’s wife, and their daughter Hana.

Nao Touyama’s voice acting roles include Honami Ichinose in The Classroom of the Elite, Chiho Sasaki in The Devil is a Part-Timer, and Ruka Sarashina in Rent-a-Girlfriend.

Additionally, Hina Kino has lent her voice to characters such as Lishu in The Apothecary Diaries, Alas Ramus in The Devil is a Part-Timer, and Miri Unasaka in Buddy Daddies.

Finally, we will also have Ryota Suzuki and Miyari Nemoto as the voices of Mashimo Heisuke and his companion parrot Piisuke.

Ryota Suzuki has previously lent his voice to Touma Hiiragi in Wind Breaker, Ryuusui Nanami in Dr. Stone, and Yuu Ishigami in Kaguya-sama: Love is War. Similarly, Miyari Nemoto has previously voiced Pfeifer in The Duke of Death and His Maid, Sazanka in In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki, and Pikachu in Pokemon Evolutions.

The premiere of the Sakamoto Days anime is scheduled for January 2024. It will air on TOKYO MX and other TV networks, as well as be available for streaming on platforms like Netflix. More details about the series are expected to be announced before its release.
