In the previous installment of Sakamoto Days, Uzuki attempted to prevent Gaku from engaging in a fight with Takamura. However, Gaku remained determined and ultimately sustained a stab wound to his arm from the elderly man. Haruma, who had also made a reappearance, utilized his shot put ball to intervene, but the old man effortlessly sliced it in half, rendering it ineffective.

Although Uzuki ordered them to withdraw, neither Haruma nor Gaku appeared upset. They both recognized that the old man was a beast, but they were determined to overthrow the JAA and believed that killing Takamura was necessary. Haruma remarked that they were like-minded individuals, prompting a flashback.

Haruma observed a young Uzuki expressing his dissatisfaction with their fate as assassins. Despite having the opportunity to escape the Al-Kamar orphanage and attempt to survive on the streets, Uzuki made the conscious decision to stay. Having been groomed as an assassin from a young age, he was hesitant to abandon that lifestyle. Though he viewed assassins as morally corrupt, he also felt out of place in the normal world. Haruma sympathized with Uzuki, noting that they were both cut from the same cloth.

Uzuki revealed to Haruma and Gaku that although Takamura was not fully conscious, he was extremely reactive to bloodlust. This knowledge was instrumental in their strategy to subdue Takamura by securing his arm to an elevator instead of engaging in a deadly confrontation. As a result, their plan proved to be effective.

As Takamura attempted to sever the chain with his katana, Gaku threw his mace in an attempt to hinder him. To everyone’s astonishment, Takamura resorted to cutting off his own hand in order to break free, only to reattach it afterwards. Gaku was reminded of Takamura’s exceptional skill in making precise and clean cuts that kept the muscle tissue alive. And with one swift slice, Takamura effortlessly divided Haruma’s body in half.

Sakamoto Days Chapter 167: What to Expect (Speculation)

The situation has once again shifted, with Gaku and Haruma proving to be no match for Takamura. Haruma’s extensive injuries and significant blood loss will most likely prevent him from carrying on with the fight, even if he manages to survive. This is especially true considering the serious wounds he sustained while battling Shin.

It is highly unlikely that Gaku would be able to defeat the swordsman on his own. Hence, it will be intriguing to see if anyone will step up to challenge Takamura in chapter 167 of Sakamoto Days. However, in order to uncover the truth that Asaki has been hiding, Takamura must be dealt with first.
